Saw this posted on tumblr. I don't know if there really is any true ringers this season because most of the cast has dance experience of some sort. IMO the whole ringer debate last season with Zendaya got exhausting and down right nasty. Hoping for a "ringer-free-dance-debate" season. Here's hoping
![]() DWTS Season 17 Stars w/ Dance Experience… Ok, let’s just get this out of the way. Here is a breakdown of the current stars and their dance experience going into the show. WOMEN: Valerie Harper (74)-Studied Ballet and Dance in New York while in high school. Also, danced on broadway in shows choreographed by famous dancer Michael Kidd! Snooki (25)-She admitted during the GMA cast announcement that she had 8 years of Gymnastics lessons and was a cheerleader. Christina Milian (31)-Danced in her music videos and had a lead role in one of the Bring it On films which feature cheer leading dance ability. Elizabeth Berkley (41)-Studied ballet as a child into high school age. Performed in some broadway shows and was a dancer in the movie Showgirls. Amber Riley (27)-Has been dancing choreographed routines for the past four seasons on Glee. Leah Remini (43)-No Dance Experience MEN Keyshawn Johnson (41)-No actual dance training but athletic training from college until retiring in 2006. Brant Daugherty (28)-No Dance Experience. Corbin Bleu (24)-Has studied Ballet and Jazz as well as trained at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. He has also been in several broadway shows including the lead in Footloose! Plus, he danced in all 3 High School Musical films. Bill Nye (57)-Is a self-proclaimed avid Swing Dancer and goes to dance events like Stompology. Bill Engvall (56)-No Dance Experience. Jack Osbourne (27)-No Dance Experience. ———— The youngest contestant is 24 and the oldest 74. Only 4 out of the 12 contestants have no prior dance training. That’s pretty big considering so many people complain about how they shouldn’t have anyone with dance experience. So basically if you are one of those people who likes to vote for non-experienced Stars you have 4 choices. Leah, Brant, Bill Engvall or Jack. But if you like to be entertained there are 8 more Stars ready to dance for those votes! ![]() ![]() ![]()

I am not a Tristan fan by any means but now I can see the hype
and see why he is so popular ; Way more popular than Val for example who came during the same season with him ![]() Love this interview : What a stand -up guy , respect. I still want him to get a contender soon though Here is an interview he recently did. http://www.macmaniacs.org/weekly-update.html Reading this made me realize that as much as some of us like to complain about the fact that some pros are not treated fairly as the others when it comes to pairings; we need to understand that some pros are doing this show for different reasons. As cheesy as this sounds, it seems like some pros are mostly here for the journey, experience that they get with their celebrities and dont care too much about the trophy. I am putting Tristan in that category. |

Awwww thanks for posting that edy, a thought provoking piece and I stand corrected for wanting Tristan, to have a contender this time round. I'll shut up about it, he is right and good on him for being prepared to be the ringmaster. Can quite understand why he was chosen to be partnered with Valerie, right guy for the job. He is such a lovely person and glad he is standing up for Valerie.
![]() Anyways, yes he is the right guy for the job and they look like they get along already so well ; Loved their video on DancingAbc .

![]() I like this site because everyone can have an opinion of their favorite celeb/dancer. No real bashing (which is refreshing). Let the season begin already! Right now I am excited to see what Val & Elizabeth can do. I really love Val's choreography and he's done some awesome routines with Kelly & Zendaya....I want to see more. I remember last season I wasn't sure how his partnership was going to pan out with Zendaya. Prior to the premiere my thoughts were they made for an odd pair b/c: 1.She is taller than him 2.She was so young. Disney kid...so low expectations, weird chemistry b/c of the age difference I was so pleasantly surprised. This season I feel like Mark & Christina could be amazing also. When Mark has a capable partner that's when I feel he really pushes the choreography. Sometimes I love his chroreography...sometimes it's too out there for me....but I truly appreciated his unique ideas. Looking forward to what they can do. Karina & Corbin I already know they will have some great dancing. When I look at Corbin I am trying to look at him as a grown man (which he is) but I can't help picturing him afro-tastic from his HSM days He was such a cutie!I think Amber & Snooki will be good as well but I just think Corbin, Christina and Elizabeth might be technically better. Of course this is based on nothing but a guess after looking at their dance backgrounds. |

Amber Riley (27)-Has been dancing choreographed routines for the past four seasons on Glee.
I'd say Amber has an advantage for learning a routine but not that it's necessarily going to give her an advantage for the style and presentation of ballroom or the sass and sexy of Latin. I don't usually watch DwtS but I'll probably try catch a bit of this series to see how Amber gets on. |

I think, being fair to Amber, that anyone whose watched those choreographed routines on Glee wouldn't consider them to be any kind of an advantage for ballroom or Latin. Most of them consist of lots of swaying around or arm/head movements for the vast majority of the cast and only the ones who can actually dance, doing any complicated dance moves.

The girl can sing! |

The dances for week one in (possibly) the order of performance (as per Pure):
Brant and Peta – Cha Cha Cha Bill and Tyne – Cha Cha Cha Christina and Mark – contemporary Jack and Cheryl – Foxtrot Elizabeth and Val – Contemporary Corbin and Karina – Contemporary Amber and Derek – Cha Cha Cha Valerie and Tristan – Foxtrot Bill and Emma – Foxtrot Keyshawn and Sharna – Cha Cha Cha Leah and Tony – Foxtrot Snooki and Sasha – Cha Cha Cha Apparently the dances are 1'10. I don't know if this is for the whole season or just while there are too many couples to fit into the 2hr slot. Seems awfully short to me, so they better have a crackdown on faffing. I'm not feeling very excited about it at the moment . Hopefully that will change....

Oh well may be better than we think. |

Snooki and Sasha getting the pimp spot
Really Interesting . She must be really good .I really hope that people get to know her and see how much she has changed for the better. I cant stand Sasha like Ive already said but I'm going to root for them just because I like her ; I want her to do well and I also want her to prove those naysayers wrong .Everyone deserves a second chance

This must be the first time that I actually like all the celebs & pairings for the most part, Wow.
My least favourite couple at the moment are Val and Elisabeth; Idk they are just blah, boring compared to the other couples and I dont really see the chemistry between them like I see with all the others. Favourites in order are : 1- Corbin & Karina 2- Christina & Mark 3- Sasha & Snooki 4- Bill & Tyne 5- Brant & Peta . Note My ranking may change in a few hours lol but my top 2 favorites for the rest of the season will always be : Corbin/Karina and Christina and Mark .I pretty much like everyone from the cast like I've already said but I'm really indifferent to Cheryl & Jack and Elisabeth & Val at the moment ; they are just :yawn::yawn: All this talk about the ringers; Fingers crossed that Snooki, the 2 Bills, Brant, Keyshawn wow the audience Tonight. I think that some people really underestimate these guys. All these changes, How are they going to fit everything in 2 hours ? They may even have to cut the VTs for a few seconds; What about musical guests ? I wont miss Brooke's cringeworthy interviews that's for sure. |

Although as the show has been pruned back, may not get to see much training footage, I always like to see the training. Haven't warmed to Snooki tbh, |

Loved this interview, I couldn't stop laughing; Hilarious. These 2 are already huge fan favorites this season, especially Bill The Science Guy. Most people are tuning in to watch him this monday so I think that whether he is a good or just an okay dancer, he will stay around for a while .

. Liking Amber, think Bill was friendly but trying to do a bit of camera hogging. Interested to see celebs interactions again. Amber looked to have rhythm and timing in her clip so reckon she will do alright. Is Bill a really well known celeb then, suppose he must be if he has a big fan base, looks a bit eccentric
