Hello. I have just moved to a new flat and they said that putting Sky on the roof would cost £140 (plus I already would like to put my own dish pointed to another satellite so I am afraid I won't get permission to put 2 dishes up!), and ntl is unavailable here.
I am now considering Homechoice (although I already have Freeview and it doeasn't look much different!).
Could you please help me answering some of these questions?
- The content of demand channel C1 is free or you need to pay for every program you want to watch? And what programs are available?
- How does movies now express works? How many movie can I watch per month? How many to chose from? And how are the movie? Sky Movies style? Sky Cinema style? or TMC style?!?
- How do the V:MX channels work? Do you get a MTV style channel but with the option of fast forwarding when they broadcast something you don't like or you get a list of songs and you chose what to play, Juke Box type of thing?
- Finally, I have noticed the 3 months-half-price offer is running out: in your experience, do they run these offers all the time or should I hurry?!?

C1 is inclusive in all subscriptions. It contains reasonably recent US and UK dramas and comedies along with some slightly older and some classic US imports.

To list all the programmes would take a while but they update the content every Monday and Friday.

Moviews Now Express has some recent films and some older ones and for a fixed fee each month you can watch all of them at any time as many times as you want.

This compares to their Film 1st and Movies Unlimited which are pay per view with Film 1st containing the newer releases and Movies Now Unlimited has a collection of 1000 which spans a much larger time span.

HomeChoice are attempting to get to 100,000 subscribers fairly quickly so I would expect there to be another offer immediately after this one finishes. The current one was extended to run throughout January according to their promotional material. A future promotion may not be as good value or may be better - HomeChoice seems fairly tight lipped about their future promotions for obvious reasons.

Also not that the Internet speeds are doubling for no extra cost so it's now 1Mb, 2Mb and 4Mbps rather than the old 512kbps, 1Mb and 2Mbps services.

You won't find that anywhere. It updates too frequently to allow this to be done meaningfully by anyone other than HC (who don't for some reason).

Music channels are as follows:
- MTV, VH1 etc. are as per on Sky
- VMX is basically a huge jukebox and you can either select individual tracks to play or you can play one of their channels which is basically a rotating playlist of videos (no VJs etc.) - ie. a predefined playlist from the jukebox. On that you can hit rewind or ffwd...
