He must really mean it when he says he doesn't care about any of them (or wtte) and that he doesn't want to see them after the show. Carol's his friend for the purpose of having somebody to hang out with on the show, but it seems it's nothing more than that.

No he didn't. a) Louis is the very last person who would be able to resist telling everyone about his clever deduction; and b) he sounded properly hostile when he could very easily have given a nothing kind of reason.
