CBB fails when housemates want to leave
Mr Teacake

In the old days nominations were serious buiness but for most of these hms it verges on enjoyment to indifference if they're up for eviction. Courtney wants to leave thus Carole putting her up was a damp squid. Sophie was glad to be evicted last night. Louie has been craving an early eviction for some time now. Lauren is the only one who wants to make it to the final.

BB need to asjust the format to make surviving til the end the priority. Perhaps via a prize fund.

They should increase the appearance fees. Ten million each. Shorten it all to a week.

They should change the payment process so that contestants are rewarded based on how far they get through the series.

So for example if a housemate is paid £100k for a 20 day series he earns 5k for each day he makes it, which should entice contestants to make more efforts to stay in the process.

I was thinking this as well, but then i imagine it would be hard for the producers to find people that would be willing to enter if the payments like that.

Didn't the CBB prize used to be cash for a cause of the winner's choice? If so, they could bring that back, and if not, it might be an idea.

Obviously, it would be terrible if all the housemates did was go on about 'their' charity but the producers could presumably edit that stuff out, or, better yet, declare all references against the rules .

I disagree. No housemate wants to leave. In all the years of watching BB the only ones that have genuinely wanted to go are ones that have a problem with another housemate to the point where they are making that persons experience unbearable. Especially the celeb one they don't want to go because it is more exposure for them to stay! For crying out loud it's only 3 weeks...as they said on BOTS tonight we are already half way!

couldn't agree more I think this is the first CBB I've watched in which most of the housemates talked about wanting to leave in the first week. Danielle - wanted to stay Ron - made it clear that he would of been up them stairs quicker than Danielle and was generally happy to leave. Courtney Vicky Bruce and Louie made it very clear that they want to leave soon.

Perhaps BB should try to bring some proper laughter back into the house instead of encouraging nastiness and spite

There will always be a point for a person to think "I don't need all this cr@p, its not worth staying here"

I don't believe Louie wants to go at all

I think TBF to Courtney she is only 19 and didn't realise how much homesick she would get she has never even been away on her own/with friends on holiday everybody else will have had jobs that have lasted longer then this before so are more used to it

I'd not looked at it like that but you've got a point.

Why would they want to stay in a miserable atmosphere with lack of sleep, boredom and BB openly fuelling hostilities when they get the same pay cheque if they're evicted in week one or the final?
I believe most of them DO want to leave asap, BB doesn't hold any clout these days for kick starting a flagging career, those days have long gone.
Theres not mega bucks to be made out of newspapers or mag deals anymore. I'd go as far as to say that appearing on CBB nowadays is more likely to be detrimental to the so called 'Star' as it smacks of desperation. Barrel scraping is what we call it.

something needs to happen it really is a farce this summer.
Lauren, Mario and Charlotte are the only ones who haven't said about leaving in the little feed we have.

Great idea, then at least they might show interest in being there, Lauren is the only one showing willing to be there , she is almost desperate but its better than apathy

I think this too, since the diary room stopped being private I think the show has gone downhill in a big way, and it doesn't necessarily make good viewing, and I hate those 'I'm a Celebrity' style eating tasks.

Tampering with how they get paid will stop people wanting to do the show. jack Dee won because he wanted to leave every day. It's not a new thing.
