9200T USB transfer problems
Max Demian

I'm having problems transferring files from my Humax 9200T to a computer by USB. This seem to have started early last year, i.e. before the (Crystal Palace) digital switchover.

I usually have it switched to 302 (BBC Red Button). I've tried Games Mode but it's no better.

I've used Humax Media eLinker on XP, and Media Controller (GUI version) on XP and Windows 7. And different USB cables.

None of this makes any difference. I find that the connection goes bad part the way through transfer frequently, and I only use it to transfer small files (15-25 MB). Usually I can fix it by unplugging and re-plugging the cable. Sometimes I have to power cycle the Humax to fix it.

Does anyone know how I could fix this?

There is a mod you could do.. fit a three-way IDE/PATA cable between the Humax HDD and motherboard, with the spare connector at one end, HDD in the middle. Then fit a USB/IDE adapter to that and exit the USB cable via the card/CAM slot. Then your PC can access the HDD directly when the Humax is in standby and not recording (you need to install HumaxRW to read it).
