I think Carol would be insecure irrespective of her relative age -- there'd always be another reason. Having said that, there are hints at few things going on beneath the surface that might relate to how she feels about being older. As much as I dislike Carol, I don't see jealousy there, and certainly not jealousy of Courtney. I really don't think for a single second that Courtney is 'everything that Carol wants to be'. Margaret Thatcher might be (apart from being dead). The reasons Carol gave for nominating Courtney were very reasonable and perfectly justified. I admit I was somewhat grudgingly impressed.

I wasn't TBH I'm 34 and at least two people I went to school with have grandchildren.

About a dozen had children themselves by 18 so their 50-55 years old parents are grandparents some great grand parents
