A strong Middle-English word, meant to be used as an exceptional description because of the disgusting nature of the person/event being described
I was wondering whether any of the housemates actually warrant the use of the word, and if so why?”

Yep that's Makosi

Actually, BB has brought me so low that I now develop a crush on any poster of any gender who appears to have more than two brain cells.

None of them I would describe as being vile, aside from one (see below) - just incredibly dislikeable. There is quite a long list for me:

Carol (this year's CBB) - used to love her on the rare occasions I watch Loose Women, but I think she's shown herself to be unnecessarily vicious.

Charley (BB8) - just a horrible HM, imo.

Grace (BB7) - see above.

Aisleyne (BB7) - I'm kind of contradicting myself here. I hated her when she was in the House, but I was watching BB7 (ah, the good old days!) on YouTube just the other week and I really like her.

Makosi (BB6) - 'I might be pregnant'. Say no more. Used to LOVE her until that moment.

Hazel (this year) - her draping herself over Daley, who is just as bad etc.

Conor (BB12) - the only exception to the 'vile' word. He's the epitome of it. It disgusted me that he actually got half the prize money.

And while we're on the subject of Lauren Harries, I think she genuinely means well, and has a good heart, but there's something about her that I simply do not like. Maybe it's how she's always around Courtney like a lost puppy. Most off-putting.

Sorry Depressing isn't it! Just remember that we used to have many a Grope C (Yep, *that* C word) Lane... and now we don't. There are some positives to language evolution

To remain on-topic: Norwegian Brunost caramel cheese is about the only thing in the world I would use the description 'Vile' for. It qualifies as it is quite repugnant, and to say 'unpleasant' would be doing it and readers a dis-service.

There are times certain words should be used, but only to emphasise the point, and sparingly.”

I've never heard of Norwegian Brunost caramel cheese! Having just googled it, and loving sweet and savoury, and Caramacs, it sounds like it might be a winner for me! Thanks for the nod!

Re your BIB, I'd agree in my ideal world. But my personal Utopia doesn't and never will exist So being a lover of rules, I use the OED and acceptance of language evolution patterns to temper my anger at other people daring to use words in the correct official or evolved ways rather than *my* way... I do have some words that bother me muchly ('chav' springs to mind!), but 'vile' isn't one of them, even though its not much in my word bank either.

That said, I've just had a whole burrata, mopped up with a decent slab of home made focaccia and plenty garlic oil and toms - it could only have been improved with some glugs of An's Rioja!

Yep that combination delicious though it sounds definitely needed some Rioja - if only to wash out your arteries.
