I wouldn't want to sit down and have my lunch with a screaming bat right across from me.But that's not likely to happen because bats are smart enough to avoid things like cave walls,and humans.
I love watching bats on nature programs,they are truly amazing.
Although between them they can build a pile of crap as tall as a small building!
If it came to a choice of going out for a drink with a horseshoe nose bat or Olly Murs,the bat would win hands down.It can sing just as well,and it's a lot less embarrassing to be seen with in public.

I think they're very beautiful - the way they move is so graceful and fascinating and they're so beautifully black. Close up many of them look cuddly too.

Eurgh, my face has gone all fuzzy (like when you eat strong cheddar).
Bats are wonderful creatures, go about their business not really bothering anyone, amazing to watch at dusk, i get loads where i am, and did you know they ALWAYS turn right when exiting a cave or barn.
Love them. Fascinating wee creatures. Once found one and put it in my pocket and took it to science teacher. It was dead. He told me they are ridden with fleas!
We have bats living in our soffits - they have got in through miniscule gaps. At dusk you can see them flying out into the garden, and when they come back they flatten themselves to crawl up the brick and get back in. In the recent hot weather, my son had his bedroom window wide open and a bat flew in. It took an exhausting half an hour to capture - boy were we relieved it was out of the house !
