Anyone who thinks neighbours is great now should watch old episodes. The writing and drama was a lot better between 1986 and 1995 and it was certainly a lot funnier. Can't get into Neighbours these days, it just seems a bit boring and slow going.

I have seen between 1992 and 1995 as you said on UK Gold and I was practically bored to death! I think its much better now- slow is certainly not the word I would use anyway.

I think the period UKTV Gold are showing right now was probably the worst in the whole Neighbours 20 year history. It was so dull with characters like Todd, Josh, Hannah, Philip and the whole Alessi family. :yawn:

Todd Josh and the Alessis aren't in it now- I think its currently showing 1998 (possibly 99). Hannah just got back from France a few weeks ago.

lol. I keep meaning to get one of those, but whenever I get the spare money I end up buying a cd instead! (most recently the Killers).

Don't you remember the Lauren cult storyline, the Jill Wier stalker storyline or the Lucy and Glen incest storyline? Slow is the word! These days u gotta wait about a month for anything exciting to happen and the characters are so wooden it's unbelievable.

Nah, you're just getting old, happens to us all. It's like when you watch Top of the Pops and think: "all this music's just rubbish!"

Neighbours is better than it has been for a while at the moment.

Didn't the incest storyline get cut to shreds? In regards to the above comment about TOTP, I'm only 19 and I find a lot of the music on there rubbish as well. Don't worry, I still love Neighbours!

The Lucy and Glen storyline was basically completely cut from the screenings on the BBC. A few references to it were left in, which was slightly confusing, but the substance of the story, including a suggestion I think that L & G got up to things in the shower together!- was cut.

Thats what I thought! It might have been shown on UKGold though because I remember a few other moments that were cut from the BBC that they decided to show.
Don't ask me to name them though!
