Good afternoon everyone.

Well I have finally taken the plunge and ordered the Motorola V3 with O2 online.

My friend has had it for about 2 months and is still enthusing about it. He has had none of the glitches that people have been reporting here, and on other forums.

As o2 online are now 'selling' it free with Online 200, it seemed a shame to waste the opportunity, as this has to be a bargain. To be honest I've been keen to change to anything since my horrible 12 months with the Samsung D410. Have never liked this phone since I swapped from the Motorola V600 (Loved this phone, however lost confidence as I had to return 4 !!! because of design fault)

I could finally swap it out and it was a toss between the V3 and the new Panny X700. As O2 online could not give me any indication as to whether they are ever going to sell this phone online, I bit the bullet and went for the V3.

I know it's slightly wider than other phones, however I have held it many times (ooo....errrr) and I have never deemed it a problem.

I'm not too fussed about fantastic cameras either, as I have 2 decent digital cameras for that kind of thing.

Hope it doesn't let me down.

Regards James

I think the V3 is ok, but my mate's bored of his and it's going on my Ebay account this week.

That's the second one to want to sell his, so looks like it's a matter of taste.

Having used the v3, I got bored with it. Not a lot different from the v600, in terms of the system (menus etc).

As for the Pana X700, I'm much happier with it. Its not the "best" smartphone out their but its a nice addition to the market. The only downside is panasonic released the x700 to late, missing out on a good xmas launch... Many of the operators aren't that interested in taking it up with 3G phones entering the domain more...

That's very kind of you to reply and give your opinions.

The Panny looks a nice phone, however the lack of mp3 put me off slightly. My friends V3 and Blutooth connection appears to be the best I think I've experienced for a long time. Having had the horrible Samsung D410 for the last 12 months, Blutooth I have missed.

I am used to the Moto S/W due to having the V600 for a short period. Have to say the s/w was never a problem and the UI I found to be very friendly and straight forward.

I have to admit I can be quite fussy when it comes to phones, as it has to look the part when holding. The V3 is undoubtedly an attractive phone, however I appreciate it may not be everyone's cup of tea due to its wideness.

Oh well, I've bought it now. As already said, I'm sure I'll be happy with my choice.

Regards James

Just seen the Panasonic X700 - Nice phone! Having Symbian & Memory Cards is far better than a thin handset (IMHO) everytime.

Possibly, however I don't use my phones for anything other than........well calling and talking to people really.

I know there's the argument about memory, functionality etc. Any phone I have will always have enough memory for what I want it for. Good Blutooth is what I really like, and the V3 provides this. Good quality cameras and games means nothing to me, as I do not consider these important enough issues to say yay or nay to a phone. If I want to take pictures I buy a digital camers, if I want to play games I buy a games console.

Granted you cannot take a games console around with you all the time, then again I'm 35yrs of age, so why would I want to.

Regards James

Perhaps you should have considered that before choosing a video messaging, GPRS enabled, mp3 playing, full colour handset.

While you got the handset for free, if you had have taken a bog standard one, you could have got a much better deal with discounted line rental or cash back, etc.

AND ANYWAY!...

Just because you believe YOU are too old for videogames, doesn't mean that everyone over 35 agrees with you. Bit of a sweeping statement you made there.

There's tons more to Symbian than games anyway.
