I have a theory that the big storyline for Sharon that is apparently in progress is a domestic violence with Denny abusing her. The reason I think is several hints have been sown, Sharon seeing Denny as a god, he can do no wrong. Ava says he is a nasty bully in class but Sharon always sticks up for him. It seems like Denny is a horrible child and I can see him manipulating Sharon and her doing nothing about it and turning back to the meds...

It would certainly be different, a child emotionally abusing a parent hasn't really been touched upon in soaps much but will EE go there and also is the actor that plays Denny strong enough.

I hate seeing every bit of dignity Sharon once had be taken away.

Domestic abuse is a very real issue

Sharon to me doesnt work as a Mother, she is very controlling, sometimes neglects him, smothers him like a baby, sometimes I wonder how long she has breast fed him for!

I like Denny, he has potential to be like his dad when he grows up!

However, DTC will change that! He is hardly going to send an original character down the drain!

Nobody would blame Sharon for throttling him (obviously this would be unacceptable in real life), he's an obnoxious little brat.

That is just the tip of the iceberg in her character destruction.

I think this highlights an issue that hasn't been covered before.

I think this is possible. I mentioned in another thread that Sharon's big story is probably to do with Denny and that he will somehow leave her heartbroken

Definitely, her only scenes are here defending Denny to the death. It's been building up, he's already shown he manipulates situations to make Sharon stick up for him.

Totally agree. Sharon has been behaving out of character and it seems almost too much for it not to have some sort of consequence. It would be a great story for Sharon

I imagined the scenes with Sharon arguing with Ava over Denny's behaviour building up towards Ava losing her job because of Sharon's complaints or else because of losing her temper with Denny and maybe smacking him.

Domestic abuse? I may be naive but isn't the kid just 6/7?

It probably will lead to Ava losing her job, seeing as she's yet to get a job on the square. One day, a teacher- next, Ian's skivvy at the cafe. Bet her parents would be pleased

Err I don't think the big storyline is going to be about an 8 year old misbehaving in class and his mother being an idiot. I do think it'll be about Denny though and we'll see something big happen to him

I think the idea of a 7 year old boy having the clarity of mind to manipulate and psychologically and/or physically abuse his mother is a tad silly. If he was in his teens I could buy it, but from a seven year old they'd be venturing into fantasy land.

I invented this story in my head not long ago after watching a woman at church act like her son was in charge.. Was nothing really but I had this whole little story invented in my head lol

Would be goooood! But.. Yeah.. After Sharon's drug story, I don't really want to see how it'd play out. It could be really embarrassing :/

Exactly. Can you imagine the ridicule Eastenders would come under if we had to suffer scenes of Sharon cowering in fear as Little Lord Fauntleroy - a quarter of her size and about as menacing as a kitten - leers over her and tells her she "needs slappin' daahn"?

Meh; they've already ventured into fantasy land with Ronnie return - that's the problem when you break with realism so starkly: anything becomes possible .

They should advance her drug addiction, showing scenes airing after 9pm where she snorts coke off Phil's egghead

Don't buy it. They're just turning her into Peggy - that's all. Denny is more important than her because he is the future Den Watts (not Dennis). What they've done to Sharon is a disgrace, they should never have brought her back. She should have been killed off long ago, or stuck with her original character. They ruined Den too and that was unforgivable.

Sharon is just raising Denny the way she was presumably raised by Den and Angie - the kid is a spoilt brat that can do no wrong. Sound familiar? Sharon was a bratty princess once upon a time, she grew out of it.
