Does Netflix go by ratings when deciding to remove series/films?

Wondering this, as it has lost the full series of Keeping Up Appearances, Harry & Paul & Reggie Perrin amongst other comedy favourites. I'm wondering whether they decide to pull series when they are not being watched enough?
Whilst this idea would seem logical, it does mean that if there are series/programmes which just a few people like they will be at the disadvantage of the majority and won't be served.
I wonder if this could affect series such as "The Beauty of Maps" which might only be appreciated by a select few.
Luckily BBC FOUR does try to serve minority interests.

Most things dissappear once their licensing agreement period has come to an end.
It's then up to Netflix and the studios to come up with a new licensing deal, but depending on other parties ie LoveFilm or Sky they may not be able to get certain things back again until their licensing deals have ended.
Obviously if certain things are not being watched then they won't try and get them back.

That's probably it as well because some things you feel can't be watched that much and it is sometimes good for really rare things, such as it has The Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon series on there!

But you can't rely on it staying on Netflix so I've bought Series 2 of Reggie Perrin on DVD.

Most of their Licencing deals aren't show specific however. They pay the distributor for access to their library and then only pay at show level for each time its streamed. So if hardly anyone is watching Keeping Up Apperences its only an issue if viewing figures for the whole library of shows from that distributor are low and don't justify the overall fee.
