I've tried 4 home PCs and laptops, have a 17MB connection, but ITV Player is still stopping and loading the stream (I've tried the service on and off over the past couple of years).
BBC, 4OD and other services seem fine, but it seems the ITV servers just aren't up to scratch for the demand.
With a googled Scottish postcode, I've tried STV - which is slightly better - but still has too many loading stops to make a programme watchable.
Surely after all this time ITV must be aware of the problem?

Is this a problem with buffering, or ITV having an utterly sub standard, non SD streaming offering in this switched on age?

4oD isn't SD either, but it does look slightly better than the crap ITV put their name to.

ITV has known about this issue for a while. ITV makes money from adverts, but online people (like me) use adblockers, which of course ITV wants to circumvent.So they made a sub standard player that no one enjoys, and everyone can still block the ads on.

As you guessed, unless STV gives you better results, depending on the program, just watch it online elsewhere.

And to think that if OFCOM had let Kangaroo go through - there would have been NONE of this hassle- as they'd have been using iPlayer infrastructure...
