I doubt Darcy can help her annyoing voice (if you think it to be that) any more than any of the other people on the show can (or can't). As a judge it will be the content of what comes out of her mouth than the sound.

I agree the content is always more important.

I find Darcey's voice, vocabulary and intonation attractive, pleasingly engaging, smoothly soothing and pertly sexy.

What a lovely tribute to the lovely Darcy, thank you.

Darcy was a megastar. She knows about musicality, line, connecting with an audience, storytelling, partnering, hard work even though your feet are bleeding.

But not basics in ballroom and Latin. Bruno and Craig are choreographers so that leaves Len who does have the knowledge and experience. I would prefer two ballroom/Latin experts.

Very eloquently put.

Ballroom uses moves that are in ballet. They might not have the same name (I don't know if the terms are the same r if Ballroom has it's own terms ) but there's a similarly in some steps and moves when out of hold.

I suspect a touch of inverted snobbery here, Darcy speaks with quite a posh accent and if people feel intimidated by it, that is really their fault not Darcys
I speak as one who has been accused of speaking with the odd plumb in my mouth. This is how I have always talked and I manage to get my message across very we'll in most situations.

I can't spell so anyone who likes can pick holes in my posts and makes elves feel superior

Couldn't care less about her voice, but as a prima ballerina I always found her passionless. And her attempts at contemporary dancing as embarrassing as Kiri etc 'slumming it' with pop/musical classics. But YMMV

I love Darcey. I know I would rather listen to the occasional nervous"yah" at the end of a useful tip to a celeb, than the "youwazgud" observations of her predecessor.

I find the yah's annoying but as you say it is the content which is important.

I cannot believe some people are still harping on about this.

Hooray for delly!

Why be unkind ? If there's something you don't like, fine, but you don't need to tell everyone! Imagine if Darcey reads this. Would you say all this stuff to her face ?

And please, learn to spell her name correctly at least.

Darcey put me to sleep on the launch show. Not irritated by her voice yet. Brucie was much more annoying actually...

You only have to see Darcy dance to realise how good she is.

I seem to remember she was asked about her repeated use of 'Yah' a couple of years ago. She had not realised how much she said until she saw recordings of the programme but I think she said it came from when she was teaching and was done to ensure the person had understood what they had been told.
