Philips 23PF4321 - TV language change
Margi

Hi,

I'm at my parents' house and they have the above flatTV which has somehow got stuck on the Greek language option for menus. Comparing it with their original instruction manual I've come to the conclusion that the first screen list on the main menu is Picture, Features, Sound and Install, and I need to go into Install to use the language change feature, but it's greyed out so I can't click on it.

Please can you tell me how it's possible to get into this, or is there another way to change the language setting after the set has been in use for a while?

Many thanks for your help,

Margi

PS The instruction book doesn't seem to think it would be a problem getting the Install menu up! There's nothing about it being greyed out as far as I can see... Thanks!

The set is probably in Hotel mode, so the install option is disabled.

Along with the language spontaneously changing to Greek I would imagine it's highly likely the EEPROM memory is corrupted.

You might try this:

Just sorted it, thanks very much indeed! It didn't do exactly as the manual said, but at least putting that sequence in brought the Install option back into play. We are all very grateful!

Incidentally I don't think it 'spontaneously' went to Greek, I think it's more likely that a small person was messing and it went there, and then she couldn't change it back so denied all knowledge! But at least it's all sorted so everyone's happy!!!

Thanks again,
Margi
