Have the Sugababes really finished, or are they going to replace Jade?

Based on this story:

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/ne...eep-lying.html

I'd say they are finished, but I honestly wouldn't put it past the studio suits to try out yet another new member in place of Jade.

I actually admire her for speaking out but there must be people seething at her behind the scenes, if only because this is never how the end of a band is usually announced.

Let it die. It's like Frankenstein's monster by this point.

But if they refuse to announc eit and Bs the fans and public more power to her for standing against the party line. I mean how long could they keep it up unless they were hoping eventually people would tire of asking and they'd just fade out.

Honestly I just want them to finish or continue under a different name, a fresh start I guess.
I'm just tired of the whole saga, Sugababes are over, in the past, they were great but it's just fizzled out and I admire Jade for speaking about it whilst Heidi and Amelle have kept the gag going the past two years.

I don't want a new member and I don't want Jade back either. Now that Sugababes have "fizzled out", in Jade's words, and MKS are flopping, can't we just have the REAL Sugababes back? I need Keisha, Heidi and a thinner version of Mutya to reunite and give me 'Taller In More Ways' 2.0.

MKS flopping? In what sense?
Because they are currently top 20 in the iTunes charts and that's with 1 tv performance and zero radio play. So the fan base is definitely there.
I wouldn't throw the 'flopping' thing around until we have at least seen how single 2 and the album perform in the new year.

Also, absolutely no need for your comments re a thinner Mutya. Who cares what she looks like. Also, the real Sugababes are back - the three with talent and harmonies. Not the 2 who can sing and the blonde pretty one who makes up the numbers.

I wouldn't care about Mutya's weight if Mutya herself could work it, feel comfortable with it and dress properly. She doesn't look like a performer at this point. And when I say "flopping", I mean failing to enter the top 10 after a high profile performance and after months of buzz and hype about their reunion.

As far as the "REAL Sugababes" thing goes, I guess we'll never agree, but since the only glory of 1.0. was a top 10 peaking single and an underperforming album, I'm going to stick with my opinion that 2.0. are the REAL Sugababes. Keisha, Mutya and Heidi are the Sugababes brand and the 3 faces people associate with the band's name.

Well now you just sound silly. Sorry.
Mutya dresses absolutely fine and she clearly wears what she herself wants to, and not what she is told to like many other artists out there now. Also, Mutya has looked pretty great in photos I have seen on her official facebook page when the girls have been out and about at events etc. So I guess we disagree on that too.

The 'real' Sugababes no matter how you like it will always be the original line up. They started the band, they decided the name, they broke into the music scene and they created what is there (or isn't there as the case may be) now. Regardless of who people favour, the 'real' Sugababes as you put it are the original trio for reasons mentioned above. If you preferred the second line up, then great - that's where peoples opinions will differ.

Regarding them not entering the top 10 - it doesn't matter. This single has done enough in terms of putting them back on the map. Like I said, if single 2 and the album perform poorly then sure, it will be a flop. But right now they have just started out again in the public eye and they have work to do. Their talent speaks for itself so hopefully it will carry them onto greater success. And if it doesn't? Well at least those who know / think the original line up is by far and away the most talented will be able to hear those 3 fantastic voices together again on an album. And who could want more than that?!

So, just because I happen to disagree with you, I'm silly

It's a fact that Mutya's styling was one of the most slated elements of the 'Flatline' video and it's also a fact that 2.0. are the most successful line-up of the Sugababes and excluding 'Overload' by 1.0. and 'About You Now' by 3.0., the only line-up who produced memorable successful international hits. 2.0. made the Sugababes a brand and a household name in a way that 1.0. weren't able to. That's all facts. I'm not even including any personal opinion in it. So, if stating facts makes me look silly, I honestly don't know what to do to make me look smart.

I agree. I loved them and they had some great songs but they need to let the name die. Maybe Sugababes 4.0 (or even 2.0 at some point, but that might be asking a bit too much) could start afresh with a completely different name that has no connection to the Sugababes brand.

O.Michael, your comments about Mutya's weight are such misogynistic tripe. This type of attitude is why so many people develop an eating disorder. Please just stop.

Back on topic, I love Lay Down in Swimming Pools and Flatline. Radio stations are shameful to snub such good songs while playing The Wanted a million times a day.

Jade's coming across as a bit hungry for fame and I trying to ride of the tails of MKS. All Amelle said was she thinks they'll be back together at the end of the year, now if they have agreed not to do that, why Amelle is saying it who knows, maybe she wants it.

Choice 1 would be Mutya, Keisha and Heidi reform as the sugababes

Choice 2 would be Heidi and Amelle reform as a duo, not named the Sugababes and give it a go.

MKS sadly hyped up their return too much and the ship sailed. They were one step away from doing a Freedom and giving the song away free. The album will sell ok but they'll never be huge sadly

Heidi can't sing though! The reason they need a third person is to carry the singing duties and balance it out a bit..

Anyone else looking forward to her solo suff hahaha

Excuse me? How is it misogynistic? My comment about the weight of ONE woman whose job is being a performer automatically means that I'm a misogynist? This is such an extreme generalization. As extreme as saying that my comments on a discussion forum will lead someone to develop an eating disorder You're overreacting.

Heidi sounds great on record. Her singing live can be a bit ropey at times though. But then I've heard Mutya and Keisha sound a bit off at times too, live. It happens to everyone, they all have their good and bad nights, vocally. Unless you're Beyonce and are note perfect every time, lol!

I'm a huge fan of MKS/Sugababes 1.0. (whichever you prefer to call them) but I do like Heidi a lot too and feel bad for her over how things have gone with the group. I know she's going to be starring in the Happy Days musical soon and I wish her all the best in it. May try to go and see it actually, if I can.

As for Sugababes 4.0. I think Heidi and Amelle should carry on as a duo under a new name.

Like many who make those sort of comments, you appear to be a lost cause.

Anyway, I am sad the original Sugababes brand is ending like this. Even after kicking out Keisha, I think the Sugababes name deserved a better send off.

Sugababes is a franchise whereas MKS is a group. If someone left MKS the name would be no more!

Mutya seems quite chavvy aswell.

Saying Heidi can't sing is also ridiculous as she clearly can she just struggles sometimes like a lot of singers.

1. Heidi can sing, so she has off days sometimes, name a singer that never has bad days, shock horror even MKS have had them in their careers

2. As someone else has said, Mutya seems quite 'chavvy' herself and you cant say nobody likes her, obviously people do like her

MKS does equal talent, but so does Sugababes 4.0, listen to the acoustic edits of About A Girl, Rabbit Heart, Crashed and Burned, Freedom and they all sound great, the one thing every Sugababes line-up has had is that every member can sing and well
