Who is the best parent in Emmerdale right now ( not judging on past events )

I would say Charity first - she is being a good loving supportive mum to both Debbie and Noah .

Jai - not Noah's real dad but a very good adoptive one.

Val and Eric - always being very good and supportive with Amy .

Andy - devoted to his children .

Cain - he loves debbie to bits but goes around things all wrong .

Moira - i dont rate her , she put a lot of things before her kids .

Lisa and Zak - fairly good parents to Belle who is a little bitch at times

Ashley - A very good kind father .

Can't say I agree about Jai. Charity almost steers into the "bad parent" group for me, however she has redeemed herself as of late. I'm also quite surprised how you didn't include Alicia to that list.

-Jai is a good dad to Noah.

-Alicia's a great mum.

-Charity has improved with Debbie, but she hardly ever looks after Noah.

-Cain may love Debbie but he's an awful dad.

-Lisa and Zac are great with Belle.

-Ashley's also good.

-Moira used to be a good parent, but her getting with Cain again and moving him in knowing Adam loathed him (with good reason) made her come across as a crappy mum.

-Val and Eric are great with Amy. I think they're the best overall.

Are any of them really good parents? I think that they have all let their kids down at some point with the possible exception of Zak, Lisa and Alicia.

He is a crap dad who does love his daughter but his actions are usually self motivated and not really in her best interests ....like when he knew Debbie had found Gennie after the car crash but he didnt want to discuss that he just is obsessed with Cameron .

Moira - Moira has a big opinon of herself and i dont know why ....she is another selfish parent ...her and Cain make a great team ha

I have to say I think most of the parents in ED are pretty ok. Obviously all have done something or other but this is a soap so it's expected lol.

One that hasn't been mentioned. Dom. I thought he handled the Gemma pregnancy story line brilliantly. Don't like the character much but IMO he's a very good father.

Jimmy and Nicola are very good parents.

David is fantastic with Jacob.

Laurel has always been a good mum.

Debbie of course, she'll do ANYTHING for those children, especially so forSarah'ssake.
I do like you Collie

I did get sick of her using this as an excuse for her reign of tyranny but in fairness she hasn't said this once since she had got back with Cameron.

All things considered Debbie isnt a terrible mother all the time ....

Since her break up with Cameron she made a lot of mistakes but really with Sarah's illness she did everything possible to save her daughter , even Andy was hesitant but Debbie never was ....

its not like she ever had any role models herself , she was abandoned at birth and given to an alcoholic ......

Andy Sugden gets my vote - he's a real family man and really loves those kids of his.

I think Amy has the potential to be a good mother.

Surely Bernice deserves a mother of the year award? She's probably the most attentive, devoted, selfless mother in the village right now. The others should aspire to be even half as wonderful as her.

I don't think Debbie is a terrible mother at all. Debbie was only a 'bad' mother because they decided she was for that story line

Since getting Sarah back Debbie has (had; up until the gangster story line) been a very good mother. Andy a very good dad too.

Thank you

However Laurel is not a good mum. She's saddled her poor kids with Marlon the Moron for heaven's sake. She deserves to be made to walk around with a wooden plank across her shoulders with a heavy metal pail full of water on either end, permanently, as punishment.

I wouldn't say Charity is very good. She's been fine lately, but that only evens out the errors of the past - and that's just with Debbie. Noah has been badly messed around over his life - just how many Daddies has he had? Even now he's not being made to feel secure and safe. Cain is far too over protective and jealous where Debbie's involved but at least he has tried. Charity until recently has treated Debbie more as a mate than a daughter, and to me that's not very healthy either. It's only in the past few months that she's stepped up and acted like a Mum to her.

Debbie used to be quite a good Mum but that's gone out of the window recently.

I think Lisa's quite good. At least she tries to instill a bit of discipline into Belle as well as giving her a lot of love and protection. I'm not sure about Zak. He's blinded to Belle's faults and is quite over indulgent with her, and yet was the exact opposite with his sons.

Andy, I think is very good. He managed to maintain a good relationship with Debbie, until lately. He's very patient and has a lot of time for the kids, but I suspect he doesn't let them away with any cheek or spoil them with presents in the way Debbie does. I suspect Ashley, Rhona, Laurel, Dom, Bob, Alicia and Paddy are the same, although we don't see this so much.

Ruby and Dan are both quite good. They're at least concerned about Sean's behaviour, but to me they are too quick to defend him and the little girl when they're rude.

As much as i'm not a big Andy fan i dont think there is any debate that he is the best parent! He actually does that small thing that is putting his kids first before anything, something which the mother dosnt do very well!

I also think Eric is now a good parent, he watches over Amy and David and is always there for them for love and support or advice!

Ashley is another one, he actually takes an interest in his kids and their needs to make sure they are happy and well!

And even though she maybe a bit pushy i do think Nicola has the best intentions for Angelica and thus that makes her a good parent!

The likes of Debbie, Kerry, Alicia, Cain, Charity, Moira and Ali will never win mother/father of the year!

I think Brenda is the best parent. She's stuck by Gennie all of her life even though she's not her biological child. Gennie and Brenda had been there for each other a lot and provided support when either of them needed it.

Val wasn't a great mother to Paul and Sharon. Eric's been okay with David IIRC.

I remember there was an article in a magazine one Mother's Day about soaps' best and worst mothers as voted by viewers, I think Viv was in the top 3 worst, and Lisa might have been in the top 3 best!
