I really hope they will go somewhere with his character and not just having him following janine round. I hope he doesnt become another pointless male character like aj, joey and like ray was. They must have an idea of what characters are going to do before they sign people up or do they just introduce them and then make it up!
gary lucy - will he be another pointless ee male?
He originally was just for Syed an Christian but because of Hollyoaks/Footballers Wiives following they could not leave it there as he is popular. But, I agree they are not doing anything with him, its unrealistic he has a family....he is another Alfie Moon type character there is not much other then character interaction.
He could try to take Janine's buisness...but then what...ends in prison or found out and a black cab, its a bit blank

I think under Lorraine Newman he would be pointless but now she has left DTC will give him something to do as be wont be axed as he is good eye candy and also he be has not been in it too long for viewers to be fed up with being a pointless character like AJ has become.

it helps if they actually have a personality and/or storyline.I think he has been wasted so far, when he was in the pub handing out the poster I thought, that is practically the first time he hasn't had either Janine or Michael next to him! Which considering he has been in since July is a bit daft.
Can he act? I didn't see him in Hollyoaks or Footballers Wives but he's very monotone and wooden in EastEnders. There's not much the writers can do with an actor who can't act. Look at Joey.

Watch Gary Lucy in Hollyoaks during his male rape story, Incredible performance!, Gary Lucy can certainly act, Danny like many many others in Eastenders just needs a creative brain to give Danny something worthwhile to do.

I've heard about the story but I wasn't watching Hollyoaks at the time. It can't be easy playing such a bland character like Danny. Hopefully the material improves and we'll see his acting return to form.

I don't think we've seen anything yet. I have high hopes for him - he has a lot of potential. He just needs screen time and a good writer!

Agree with others, he already is. It's a damn shame as Gary Lucy is a very capable actor providing he is given strong material which, sadly, isn't the EE writers forte these days, just vacuous wishy-washyness. There seems to be an obsession with using good actors for all of five minutes before they become wallpaper or leave the show altogether. Unless DTC has big plans for Danny, he may as well call a cab right now ...

Is it a Footballer's Wives thing? They did exactly the same with Zoe Lucker. Vanessa should have and could have been a massive presence in Walford. I expect Jamie Lomas is also headed down this well-trodden path..
I like him but I can't stand the routine (screw it - let's call it a rut) he's stuck in, only ever having scenes with Michael and Janine, and only ever doing the same thing over and over again. He talks to Janine about business, pisses Michael off then smiles. Ridiculously tedious.

Yup.
Janine and Michael have been my favorites for a while, but to be honest every since she left Michael's been sidelined, and now she's back they're stuck repeating the same scenes over and over.
