Anyone else hoping Ronnie ends up staying more than a month?

One of my favourite characters, a month is just not enough time. Especially considering the amount of other characters that will be squashed into her episodes.

She's back for six months.

I'm glad Jack is leaving quite early into her stint. I always found them quite boring together

The actress has said that after her 6 months is done , she will sit down and asses the situation in regards to her long term future

Let's hope the writers don't screw it up !

They are probably piling the misery into the scripts as we speak

In Ronnie years that makes how many dead children? Two, three? Has she ever been pregnant with twins? EE should consider it, so they could kill two birds with one stone.

They will be planning an extension to Ronnie's stint as we speak, such things have to be planned way in advance. There's no way they're going to sit down with her when her six months are up and say 'well that was ok, come back again in six months for another stint'. Ronnie is here to stay I'm afraid.

Based on Sam's interview there won't be anymore dead children, or Ronnie the battered to death with tragedy character. She won’t be a victim anymore. It feels like they are bringing back the strong Ronnie so I hope she is here to stay beyond the six months.

I hate when actors/writers cave in to indecisive fans that complain for complaining sake. Where the hell are we going to get drama from when all the actors/fans demand all heroines be strong and stop going through 1 tragedy to the next

There wasn't a character as one trick with tragedy as stacey was yet no one complained. Cuz it was fine as long as everyones favourite lacey had her limelight. Just look at sharon today, aside from the fact she's being exposed for not bein a character in her own right, look at how irrelevant and boring she is with no drama.

yeah it seems before she said "yes" to return she discussed the plots with Simon Ashdown. Question is - why didn't Letitia do the same? If I read what Sharon has done last year I wouldn't have bothered to return.

Really? I was hoping it was just for a couple of episodes.
I don't like the character I'm afraid.

I agree, but I think it is Ronnie who is boring, not Jack.

I found them both boring together [no chemistry], and as people [Ronnie's dramatic issues aside] - especially Jack [and his brother Max].

I'm curious as to what a non-Tragic Ronnie will be like, it's been so many years since her and Roxy first appeared. I hope it's not too jarring, but appears fairly natural on-screen.

This is a clean slate for Ronnie, she's done her time, she's accepted the consequences of her actions.

I think it's good that the viewers get to see her character move on in life. We had to see all of her misery and despair, so it would be interesting to see her slowly get back to the old Ronnie before all the Danielle stuff happened. She's never going to be exactly that person again, but I'm hoping the writers use this to help Ronnie turn over a new leaf.

Her 6 monhts ends in March time, typical, as soon as DTC work starts to kick in, she leaves,

I think shes under Newmans work till then!

I have a feeling DTC will give her more challenges so she might stay in the end!

Wouldn't it be great if we could fast forwards six months so we are clear of the Newman trash

Hopefully the scriptwriters will not let her down.

I give it a week before people complain that the writers have 'ruined her'.

Ronnie was ruined the second she took Tommy out of that cot. She is a spent character and should not be returning.

Hoping the 6 months turns into a long term contract

I think we’ll see more of the Ronnie with a background we got when she first arrived on the Square before they threw constant tragedy onto her. I suspect Phil will have her dealing with things whilst he’s in hospital so we will get the hard-faced business woman she once was – taking no prisoners in the process.

I like the idea of her forming a Danielle-style relationship with Lola and slotting into the Mitchell fold as head of the household. She’s the only Mitchell left who will take no crap off Phil (Roxy lets face it, like Billy is a push over). There’ll also be a nice little rivalry with Sharon and no doubt a few clashes with Michael and Janine.

I suspect they’ll revisit her relationship with Jack which will form part of his exit. Sadly I suspect the exit will have little drama or real build up – just that he can’t cope with Ronnie close by so leaves.

Ronnie will come out, be quite "timid" if that's the right description and then slowly come out of herself a little more. I think taking care of Phil's affairs while he is out of action is the perfect start and I really look forward to her stepping into Peggy's shoes and becoming head of the household!
