Sam and his medical health scare storyline!
Sam the smiling assassin as I nickname him is about to have a major storyline which involves his health.
Now most don't care about this character as all he has done since being in the soap is having a massive stupid grin on his face while looking like soul king Sam Cooke. I am hoping he has something serious but can be handled in a decent way but like most EE writers lately they seem oblivious to real life situations. My betting that he has TB or MS? Someone on another forum stated it could be hepatitis B? If it's none of the above the EE writers will more than likely give him a 4 episodes worth of Sam coughing and sweating and find out he has Mongolia flu sigh! |

So he only came back for a kidney?
Hmm, though. Kidney donation storyline, long lost relative, bad time for EE...is it 2005? |

Kidney stories have a history of going down well with viewers of Eastenders. The last one definitely went well and is often considered a high point in the show's history

its de ja vue, same unlikeable family, same unlikeable kidney is the writing room now reduced to scrabbling around the floor for past failed scripts and stories?.
Does anyone really care enough about sam the sham to give a toss? Perhaps DEXTAAAAAAAAAAA can donate a kidney and they accidentally sew his mouth shut instead of the extraction hole. |

Didn't a terrible family already have a story line like this years ago and it made months of horrible viewing. Can't remember who they were.

It was the Ferraris, a rewrite as originally it was meant to be one of the kids killing there controlling dad and then the family covering it up but the actor that played the dad got deported so the whole story was scrapped hence why we got kidneygate, what puzzled me though was why didnt they just recast?, the actor wasn't exactly well known in the role so a new actor would have been accepted and then the murder storyline could have taken place.

Not looking forward to this storyline at all.I really can't stand the Hartmans.Theres something about the way that Sam delivers his lines, that really sets my teeth on edge. We're bound to get lots of angsty, indecipherable shouting from DExter,as he decides whether to donate a kidney or not.

I'm really interested to see how the writers do this story line. diabetes seems to be one of the rarely done as a story lines when loads of people have it. Seriously soap writers there are other illnesses besides the ones that could potentially kill you or cause mental health issues.

The Ferreira family, to be fair though, the kidney storyline came about because the original storyline of the dad being murdered by his kids for being a bully had to be pulled because the actor playing him was threatened with deportation back to India, as he didn't have a proper work permit.
