I would like Nathan to come back but I don't think he has a place in the village any more. Leyla coming back would cause major turmoil for David and Alicia but I want this storyline end.

Rhona's fit doctor can come back to the village too.

Katie or Layla

I checked to see if Katie is still on the cast list, and seeing that she is, she can't be a returning character.

Katie shouldn't be on here as a returnee, so Layla or Scarlett would be a good choice for me.

Robert Sugden would inject new life into Andy, but it's doubtful the original actor would return though.

Just outside of Harrogate, there is a lovely little country pub/restaurant, in the village of Ripley. A couple of months ago I saw an old character (the actor/actress - no spoilers) dining with a smart red headed woman and a couple of other 'suits' I recognised the red head woman from DS pictures relating to ED stuff. (its the boss woman!) Now then, this actor/actress who was dining with them is an absolute LEGENDARY character. It may have been purely social and friendly - or it may have been a business dinner!!! ..........just saying!

Steph should come back, she's been in prison long enough for soap land.

I'd like it to be Thomas, but I fear it will be Leyla, even though I don't see the point. We've got the love triangle with David/Alicia/Dom, which I imagine will be resolved quite soon. Why start it all again with Leyla?:yawn:

Given the recent death of Rchard Thorp who played Alan Turner for donkey's years, TPTB need to write him out soon so it may well be that his daughter Steph Stokes returns to the village for his funeral/will reading or whatever.

This person is a legend in Emmerdale and am sure a lot of people would love this charcter back

Also, my bf is a gardener for a wealthy family who live in North Yorkshire, Ripon to be exact and they socialise with a lot of people in similar social circles, well he has seen this actor/actress at private parties/BBQs and the actor/actress told him, when he/she had, had a few drinks - "they keep asking me and one day I will go back when the time is right"...........just saying!!!

I want it to be Nathan Wylde! A true yuppy bad boy! He was popular with a lot of viewers (not the villagers!). Cannot think of a reason for him to come back though
