I was just going to say very similar as you can see where this is heading,

It really doesn't matter, but it it not really in question that they do this it has been shown and is obvious. Why has everything in relation to apple, especially when so obvious, have to be argued and questioned by some to the nth degree.

They do use this term more than the actual use is merited why are these things so difficult to accept for some is odd.

Apple have always had a strong brand, it is what other companies struggle with.
i believe i made that very point in a thread recently and how important that is to apple

The brand is very important. That is why they continue to produce quality products, in order to maintain it.

Yet they almost do use it in nearly every sentence!!
OK.

They use "revolutionary" in nearly every sentence.

But asked to back that up, using iOS7 as an example, it conveniently "doesn't matter" how many of iOS7's new features are described as "revolutionary".

Got it.

I agree totally they do claim that for every product they make, even the 5c

Does this finger print unlocking thing not open up all kinds of possibilities for muggers?

Have you heard or read differently then? I've only read a few reviews (I like to wait and see it myself), but I've found none saying it is not a quality product.

Given that most people apparently don't bother using a passcode, no, not really.

I saw a "review" posted here saying it was "an embarrassing piece of shit".

I can only judge on appearance largely at this stage which for obvious reasons doesn't look good.

Also if it is, as seems very likely, based on a now defunct phone that proved less than inspiring that doesn't look good either.

I see. So you don't like the appearance? Well, of course that is an individuals taste, but has nothing to do with quality.

For the record, I wouldn't get one (I can't imagine they are aimed at me) but as I said, almost all reviews say how well built it is. I'll see when I get to hold one.

Everything Apple make is well built, even the packaging the product comes in so I think you can take it as a given.

Does well built automatically equal quality then? Sorry didn't realise that was the defining factor.

No, but it is a big part of it.

What is clear is you not liking a certain design (even with your balanced view) has no effect on the quality of a product.

Got it.
Now you are just being daft.

I posted a link showing nearly everything so far they have ever release has been revolutionary, yet you dismiss it completely and pick out iOS7 instead....

Anyway, this probably wont't stop your rambling, but this article for iOS7 mentions it twice...

Apple don't really use the word 'revolutionary' any more than any other big company does though.

For example, a quick scan of Samsung's website reveals revolutionary refrigerators, revolutionary entertainment experiences, revolutionary medical equipment, revolutionary NAND storage, revolutionary monitors, revolutionary smart cameras, revolutionary netbooks, revolutionary cookers, revolutionary marketing campaigns and revolutionary plasma TVs

https://www.google.co.uk/#q=revoluti...ww.samsung.com

It's clearly become an overused word generally in marketing.

Not sure it is majority, but I read something the other day which claimed the number was very high, some like 45%.

I was surprised by this..

Apple introduced it that way on stage. They said, "most people don't bother".

I don't, why would you if you keep your phone with you all the time. It won't stop determined people or people who steal your phone anyway. Typing in a long password every time you want to unlock your phone, really?

Also as iPhones send diagnostics & usage data to apple (providing its set to automatic of coarse) then I'd assume they'd have a pretty good idea of how many that do and don't.

Is that the only option available to secure your phone?

So you've searched for the word "revolutionary", but not noticed its in reference to the App store and the iPod / iTunes.

But doesn't actually describe iOS7, or any of the 200 odd new features of iOS7 as "revolutionary".

I know you've posted that link before - I'm not disputing they have never used the term. I'm disputing that they use it to describe every tiny little new thing.

If you are trying to argue that they use it for every little new thing, then posting a link to the times they have used it doesn't prove that, no matter how many times you post it.

It surprised me too - but that's what they said during the launch. That a big proportion of people don't use the passcode lock.

I just did a quick Google and found this:

Article link.

Given that its a techie kind of site, I had expected the results of the little poll to be skewed in favour of people using it, but even in that straw poll 44% said they don't use password protection.
