When you talk such nonsense it's obvious that it is based on no facts at all
So who is to blame for Nokia failing in the mobile department? Before Apple they were close to Samsung. Apple has been able to keep on there toes it seems Blackberry are the ones struggling now.

I don't think Apple phones do have all the features Samsung have but for me Android has a lot of gimmicky features.

Before Apple was around we were barely talking about the smart phone market same with tablets. IOS had a much smoother operating system compared to the early days of Android. This is what sold people to Iphones with lesser quality cameras ect..over Samsung.

The apple store has better quality apps.

And Samsung had a lead well before Apple came in. Infact it was around 2007 and the after the Nokia N95 which Apple dominated more than Apple. Sony Ericsson were releasing good camera and Walkman devices similar to Apples policy but lacked Samsung features.

Anybody who uses Android and is a fan tends to avoid Samsung and goes with HTC and Sony anyway. Samsung is well known for poor build quality.

It's hard for anybody to compete in sales with a company releasing multiple devices and low end and mid range phones and numerous flagships. It doesn't make them better just they are more affordable. Definitely not long queues when Samsung release the new Galaxy phones and tablets. Probably tend to pick up more over time on a contract.
Samsung quality is pretty good and they provide components to most of the other manufacturers anyway.

Anyway I thought you hate Apple now since iOS 7?

Nokia have no one to blame but themselves unfortunately. They became complacent, pretty much whats happening to Blackberry.

At least Nokia are still "supporting" some of their older products (still getting updates through for various things on the 808 and N8). Although they wouldn't have been in this mess if their management had any level of competence.

Whereas BB have effectively stuck two fingers up at Playbook owners after repeatedly claiming that it "will get BB OS10".

These days that isn't the case. Most major releases are pretty equal on both platforms. The only people who think the Apple store has higher quality are fanboys and Apple employees.

Samsung were second to Nokia. Nokia sat there twiddling their thumbs wondering what to do while the world moved on.

Agreed on Samsung build quality - and design. Was taking my son around various phone stores today getting ideas for his first contract phone. His preference was for Sony. He thought the Nokias looked okay, but the interface was horrible. He thought the Samsung models looked cheap ....

Do you have a view about the look of the phone? the 5c i mean? because i think it looks like a toy for young girls.

i don't mind it being made of plastic. it's the shape and the colours. looks like this
That doesn't look anything like the new iPhone.

What are the actual stats of these models? It's comedy that a rumoured budget phone (the IPhone 5C) actually turned out to be released at the same sort of price as the Samsung Galaxy S4.

As an Android fan I am usually quite reassured that Apple always seems to manage now to be behind the latest Android models on features and usually charges a hefty price tag on top for anything that it DOES manage to catch up on.
Getting an Android model now is more and more of a no brainer as time goes on, the exclusivity of the apps will also be weakening with time as Android now has more installed users over IPhone.
The war has nearly been won in fact because Samsung alone are selling more actual phone devices than Apple, Apple are only beating Android with tablets, it is justice really given how much they have been ripping people off.
When it comes to people being reassured by what they perceive as other companies' shortcomings, and seeing any of this as some sort of "war", it does seem to come from one side of the discussion more than the other.

Sorry for slightly off topic but i think Xiaomi have much better conferences and phones than Apple. These guys are basically the Apple of China.

You're being very selective. Personally prefer Android over Apple kit, but the war - based purely on sales figures - is being "won" by Apple.

The war, based on profit - is being won quite comprehensively by Apple. Apple are making more money from iPhones, iPads and the app stores than all of the google devices combined.

That was a bit militant for a keynote, but Xiaomi are certainly ones to watch along with Huawei, especially now that Hugo Barra (ex-Google employee who worked on Android) has joined them.

It's China....

*Hides*

Oh i agree, Xiaomi have plans to expand into NA and Europe before 2015 so i can see phones being bought over here very soon.

Huawei already have a very good foothold in the west and have plans to expand even further with their new range of both budget and high end devices. They just need to sort out their supply line.

I can also see Oppo trying to expand here as well as Lenovo as well.

Maybe still a win again for Apple.
Even if customer don't buy them networks may still have to .

It is not just Europe who get stuck, Verizon in the US could also have a $12 billion shortfall. The way that reads the contracts force minimum margins across other makes of phone.

You would have to be some sort of nutcase to buy a 5c at £450 +

Apple must be constantly laughing their bollocks off
