There is something strangely alluring about her bow legs

And she has got hands like shovels

No, I absolutely loathe her and her ridiculous, affected mannerisms. If she's presenting a programme then I just won't watch it.

Well.............if she was entering the BB house there'd be a hundred threads on DS:BB suggesting that she used to be a man

Personally I think she's fab.............Joyce Grenfall for the 21st century.............

Her programme is just going off now............

I liked the one she did about Rooms and the one about Meals

Just seen the ad for the Murder one, looks a decent watch

I really wish the BBC would put her on their main channels as she doesn't deserve to be hidden away on BBC 4!

Anyway, I love all the documentaries that she presents. She is so engaging, informed and enthusiastic, but in a sexy dominatrix sort of way She really deserves to be a bigger tv personality.

Any other fans of Lucy?
I think she's ace, very enthusiastic but also extremely knowledgeable. Have been enjoying the repeats of her series about Harlots, Housewives and Heroines: A 17th Century History for Girls.

Just seen that as well. Looked like 'Lucy raids the dressing-up box' again.

I really enjoy the way she tells it, the dominatrix and sexy bit has gone over my head , but she always tells the bits about history by demonstrating it, making it easy to remember and really interesting.

Lucy Worsley is very good at her job, and an attractive woman too,
as is Bettany Hughes, but IMO Helen Castor takes the star prize.
She presented "She Wolves" about medieval queens of England.
As my old Dad would say, "Je pourrais boire son eau de bain."
(I could drink her bath water.)

I like her but the BBC are in danger of over-exposing her. She has a very strong enthusiastic style that done too much can descend into parody like it did with Magnus Pike and others. Also., she can't be an expert on everything in every period.

I do like her though and I am pleased that the BBC is doing so much British history with her and others. Makes a change from the multicultural everyone hates Britain/all our heroes were horrible in reality that we get elsewhere.

How many programmes does she do a year, I think it just appears more than it is because of repeats.

I would not think she claims to be an expert on every period but is able to research them. Her job must cover a wide range of periods and I think she always sticks to British history.

TV career according to wiki.
3-4 programs a year, sometimes within another strand.
I haven't seen half of those mentioned anyway.

I think it was the history of home series, she seemed to bring in a lot of her colleagues from the various Royal collections.
I really don't get this over-exposure thing, if you don't dislike the presenter or actor.
Different matter if you dislike them though.

Where's Lucinda Lampton, I say, since she got webbed up with Worsthorne (sp) she's rarely spotted on TV.

I think she appears as a 'guest expert' in quite a few more which can make her seem to be 'everywhere' if you watch a lot of history documentaries.

Yes. She's well-known for 'rhotacism' i.e. pronouncing 'R' as a 'W'. She also has a rather rarer defect among 'posh' people of occasionally pronouncing the 'TH' sound as an 'F' e.g 'fought' for the word 'thought'.
Posh totty chef Sophie Michell does it too

A friend of mine worked with her a few years back at SPAB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings) and said she was horrible.

I'm not a fan I'm afraid. She's of the school of presenters who seem to think "it's all about me, me ME" and has to be in ever single frame.

The ravishing and delightful Dr Lucy is back in full force with a brand new series; The Empire of Tsars.
I caught the first episode last night and loved it, and Lucy is as enthusiastic and informed as ever
