I'm keeping mine. Does everything i need it to do and isn't costing me too much. It has 4G and Quad-core processor which is fast enough for HD video and gaming. What can the Z Ultra and Z1 do that the Z can't?

So no, i will be keeping my Xperia Z and not upgrading until i'm due an upgrade.

Yep, me too. Quite happy with it. Upgrading every six months is a bit over the top anyhow (though I have been guilty of that in the past!)

Wow... 6 month turn around time...

Don't see the point of changing phones that quickly tbh.

I struggle to see a need to change every 12 months these days.

I'm getting an Xperia Z1 I currently have iPhone 5 and am moving for a 4G phone and didn't feel the iPhone 5s worth the money (I may get the iPhone 6 next year) I usually have a phone for a year but I buy my phones out right. But have had new phones in the past when I've had a phone 6 months also taken out contracts and paid them off.

So do you guys like the Z any pros/cons. Looking at getting the Z1, going from iPhone4. Have they sorted the problem some Z's were getting with memory cards? any experience on using the Z with a Mac?

Sony have been releasing several updates to the Xperia Z which solved a lot of problem. Never had any problems with my memory card, although i have been told by Sony's live chat that the problem was fixed. The Xperia Z should work fine with a Mac, they offer software for Mac that will allow you to manage your phone. This should give you a bit more info: http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/software/phones/xperia-z/

One deal breaker for me with this new phone (I'm sure it won't be an issue for many) is that it doesn't support all the 3G frequencies used in the US by AT&T and as I work in the US a lot (I have a seperate work sim) thats not really of much use to me.

I really want rid of my Xperia™ Z come next week but I've no chance of doing so.

Will piss me off looking at a phone that I could gladly smash up and destroy. I love it like but don't want to look extremely cheap come the Xperia™ Z1 launch.

Guess everone with the iPhone 5 will be doing the same aswell with the iPhone 5s.

Went to pre-order the Z1 last night at EE, he couldn't find it on the system only the Z, "why would anyone want to pre-order the Z" I asked "not sure" came the reply. He phoned the EE in the actual town and they had the pre-order on their system, so he re-booted the system and still nothing. So I left my number and said "call me, when it's in, or I'll call you etc." The manager told me, apparently it's not on their system because no one has pre-ordered from their branch, so how I'm meant to pre-order is a mystery..lol I did point out jokingly that because I can't pre-order I wont get the watch, so I'll take the Lens instead... fat chance..lol

Really?
You want to smash the phone that you love because there's a newer model out and you feel it makes you look 'cheap'?

Hmmm, listen I have a bridge for sale in London. Interested?

Just read the first proper review on the Inquirer and its gets very good scores, only mistake they made was saying it had 32gb not 16gb of ram.

I've only had my Xperia Z for 6 months and it fills my requirements perfectly so for me there's no point in changing.

^^ no think I'd be a bit peeved if they changed the phone after only 8 months or so, as bad as Apple dropping the iPad 3 after a year and the iPhone 5 after a year.

Serious question does anyone in their 20's have this phone still. Getting annoyed at waiting for my iPhone 5s to arrive now that I'm cancelling the order and keeping my Sony Xperia™ Z until April or May.

If just one person gets back and says they have it and are happy with it then I'm 100% doing it.

That is not a serious question...

Are you honestly asking whether people in the 20's own an Xperia Z and then using that as justification to buy the phone.........

Kinda yeah. I own it right now and just wanted well needed to know if anyone around my age still have it.

As I explained earlier in another thread I have been severely bullied through school and college for not having the latest clothes brands, devices etc.

I like the phone but don't want to look out of place with it.

That was school, you were a kid. You're an adult now and shouldn't care what others think. You cant win. If you got a £20 phone some will think you're a cheap skate and if you got an iphone some would think you're a sheep. At the end of the day who cares. You have to use it.

Its whatever you want for a phone not what everyone else wants you to have I'd keep it until at least next year. Maybe then you can get the iPhone 6 that's what I'm waiting for and if its no good I'll keep my current phone.

I'm think of getting an Xperia Z Mini (assuming they come to the UK) when my contract is up for renewal in March/April. At this rate though the next version might almost be out.

I don't get how people can change their phones every 6 months? Are they not locked into a contract? Surely, they wouldn't be going down the PAYGO route, that would be too expensive?

It depends some people prefer to take the hit one month or save up for buying the handset outright. Then PAYG or Sim only ends up cheaper per month.
