What do you think Xbox One and PS4 will be like online on December 25th? I mean when all the kids unwrap their consoles and start loading up COD and other games, do you think it will be a nightmare?

Probably yes, although it would be far worse when the kids find that the presents they thought were an xbone or ps4 are infact, clothes or some other crap xmas present you get when you're a kid

I would hope lessons were learned after the outages of Christmas 2007.

I would suspect the amount of people going on PSN with new games for their PS3 last xmas would be more than the amount of people going on new games for their new PS4

Does that launch the same day as the Xbox one?

only irresponsible parents would buy COD for their kids and let them play online

I have a 10 year old and although i don't let him play COD i was recently watching him play Looney Tunes and there he is running around with various guns shooting cartoon characters.

Then there's Minecraft that all his friends play and in multiplayer there he is battling his friends trying to kill each other and destroying buildings.etc

Apart from the swearing in COD i honestly don't see the difference in any of these games that under 18's play apart from them being more realistic

I have a six year old and he plays Skylanders with shooting etc. my comment was mainly aimed at letting kids play COD online but as you brought it up do you not think there a is difference between cartoon violence and what you see in COD?

I think I may know your answer as you allready choose not to let your 10 year old play it COD.

As the PSN and LIVE are well established networks now and MS announced a ton of new servers for LIVE at one of the recent shows I think everyone should be ok going online on Christmas day on their new console.

They may have a few moments of downtime but nothing like the problems they had the Christmas COD4 arrived.

It's getting away from the topic but my son has played COD since he was nine and I don't see a problem with it. What's the difference between COD and cartoon violence? There's a splash of blood maybe?

My 3 yr old plays Disney Infinity and runs people over in cars. Is that inappropriate too?

Xbox live wasn't too bad back in Christmas day 2005, it was mostly mouthy Americans mouthing off on Cod2 back then. 400 is a lot of money even for a Christmas present. So I don't see the masses getting a ps4 or xbox one until the first price drop.

Agreed, this is compounded by the fact that most Xbox and PS4 games will still be released for the 360 and PS3 for the time being.

No one i know is planning on touching either until its known how well they perform or the price drops considerably.
