Linda Henry is one of the best actresses in the show. But I feel it's time for Shirley to leave EE. I know Shirley is a popular character though. There is nothing for Shirley to stay in Walford IMO.

I hope Linda Henry finds new acting roles if she leaves EE in future. She can certainly act!!

Absolutely not! Shirley is a great character and I think she has a lot of potential. DTC will probably give Shirley more juicy storylines. It's Lorraine Newman's fault that Shirley is underused.

No. Shirley has the hallmarks of a strong hard as nails EE character. She just needs stronger writing.

No. With DTC coming back I think things could be on the up for Shirley.

Shirley has looked really good this week as with she's had to face up to the fact that even though Phil did a terrible thing, she still loves him. Hopefully she can now accept this and move on. It's certainly interesting to watch her looking out for his interests and protecting Jay.

The writing and character of Shirley has been fantastic this week in my opinion...if they write for her like that regularly, she should definitely stay.

I voted yes. She has disgusted me with her actions these past few weeks. But yes at least the writing for her has been improved.

it would shake up EE if she were actually dead. If Carl has done a Dan it would be another recycled storyline and a let down and proving to me that Carl is just another panto villan.

I love Shirley, she's one of my favourite characters. Her one liners are great. She was back on form tonight. I really hope she gets back together with Phil. They deserve each other.

I wouldn't of been arsed if she left a few months ago cos she's actually done nothing for about a year but now were seeing more of her again she should definitely stay! I love Shirley and the actress is far to good for the crap they have been giving her

Your right there isnt. Theres been too many people hating on her recently but things have turned around

However, I think there are multiple fake accounts in Digital Spy. Especially the Shirley haters a few months ago. I think there are a few fake accounts who are being nasty and horrible about Letitia Dean/Sharon.

But Shirley's becoming more popular now is great news! Well done Lorraine Newman.

I love Shirley. This Week has showed that shes a great character. Im sure she is being hoffen somewhere by Carl.

Shirley is a brilliant character i cant believe so may people on here want rid of her. Fantastic character played by a fantastic actress. It's a shame that her and Phil have been ruined they made a great team and excellent pairing i'd even go as far as to say she's my favorite partner of Phil's.

Argh! Linda's great, and Shirley is awesome, but unless the writing improves she should leave. They have her going round in circles the whole time and it does nothing for the character or her fans.

edited to add: I totally voted for her to stay though. I live in hope that the EE writers pull their heads out of their arses and write something good.

She should stay if Phil and her can remain friends, they work far better when they're not together and Shirley is not being nasty. She deserves better than they way Phil has treated her. Shirley this week has been great.

Maybe he could just start appreciating her and treat her better. They've both had a tough year, if she takes him back he needs to make her feel secure.

I've loved her this week. Happy Shirley is well worth keeping.
