I used to be a fan of Eastenders and never watched Emmerdale, unless my parents had it on in the background so I knew who was who, but I don't think I've watched any Eastenders in the past year apart from the odd episode which certainly hasn't gripped me into watching again. Since the live episode last year I have watched a lot more of Emmerdale, not quite every night but I certainly keep up to date with most of the storylines. I thought tonights episodes were great, a good mix of drama (Debbie and Chas) and comedy with Charity and Cain.

Then imagine what it'll be like once the Cameron story is finished with when the show will have to start getting back to some kind of normality with humdrum everyday stories.
I think the show has jumped the shark under KO and will struggle desperately if it tries to step back and do away with the ridiculous and far fetched nonsense stories she goes in for. Like Dallas it will end up with nowhere to go and end up eating itself in it's stupidity.

Really enjoying ED at the moment, and have for ages - IMO there are plenty of stories bubbling under, waiting for the Cameron reveal to be over. Amy and Kyle, the new Bartons, Declan and Home Farm, and there's still the Archie reveal to come. Having the Steve/Nicola reveal on the same day as the Dictaphone finally being played meant that the Cameron story didn't overshadow the week.

I wondered why the car scam was in tonight's episodes, but it made sense on viewing - comic relief, pushing Charity back towards Cain, and reminding us of Debbie's background.

It is such a chore (for me) to watch EE at the moment. I feel obliged to give it one more chance, because I do like Ronnie and there is some good stuff there...but it is still a chore. Even when the Cameron story is over, ED will still be fun to watch because I actually like the characters.

Emmerdale is trailblazing at the moment! Lucy Pargeter as Chas is in fine form as always alongside a brilliant supporting cast. October looks set to be exciting and will open up a whole new raft of storylines with half the village tangled up in the mess! It's all going on in the country!

Incidentally, I don't know if there's a conspiracy theory about the ITV soaps BOTH having their killer reveals during EE's big week, but it is a bit of a coincidence....

Whilst obviously, the Cameron/Chas//Debbie S/L will take precedence over the coming days/weeks, im looking forward to Steve's return, brilliant character.

ED is going well atm.

Is it because EE is bad or that ED is good?

Can't speak for EE but ED is fantastic at the moment, IMO

I think all in all there's great story lines in all the main soaps right now but ED will always be my favourite and I think that's more to do with I'm a yorkshire lass away from home, but when your excited to see the next episode they're obviously doing something right

So many stories in the pipeline I for one can't wait, wow how great would these soaps be with out spoilers lol !! But got to admit I love a good spoiler

So what? If you're enjoying it then good for you. Who cares if another soap is being discussed more?

Bit immature I must say.

Outstanding writing and acting for most of the cast; but the Spencers are unwatchable and this will definitely bring the ratings down, which is sad for the rest of the cast.

I disagree - people don't just turn off because of one family! None of the big storylines (current and upcoming) involve the Spencers so I think they'll be easy to ignore.

The actor who plays Cameron is still filming so I think the whole killer storyline will go onto the end of October.

Totally disagree, Kate Oates had done wonder with Emmerdale and I look forward to what more she has planned.

If you really think it has "jumped the shark" then perhaps you would be better doing something else with your time.

Yes, here we go again with the usual frustrating scenario of characters wiping vital evidence from phones, thus dragging out the story line while they frantically have to find new evidence which can go on for weeks if not months.

Remember Kirsty wiping the photos from Tyrone's phone in Corrie, now Debbie has told Chas she wiped Cameron's confession to killing Carl from Ginny's dictaphone, thus removing all proof and the need to set up traps to catch him out which could go on and on and on......

Emmerdale is on a roll at the moment .Jimmy was out of the s/l for a bit but now he's back he's brought a grittier edge to his character .
Now that Chas and Debbie are talking ,and Cain and Charity are up to their old tricks again, you can see there could be plenty of fun up ahead .

Emmerale's doing an excellent job at balancing the 'big' storylines like Camerons's murders, with more human stories like Ali and Ruby wanting a baby.

There's also a good balance between humour and serious stuff - loved Dan and Kerry 'dressing up' in the charity clothes yesterday.

Kerry doing all the different accents was hilarious. I love her character.

I reckon Cameron is going to escape from jail and go on the run.

It would be impossible for me to care less about any story involving the appalling Spencers.
The writing for Kerry is just purile and must take all of 10 seconds to write. All they come up with is have her dress up in stupid outifts or dresses 2 sizes too small and get her to walk funny and fall over. The kind of childish humour that went out with Charlie Chaplin.
Cameron killer story has been good and seeing Cain back with Charity is showing up moira as a sucking bore.

It's your choice of course, but I can't help thinking, from this and your posting history of vitriol towards almost all things Emmerdale, that you might be happier with Eastenders.
