But Anne was right in this instance. Why should very obvious bias and logic-dodging be tolerated? Or is it ok for people to pull rubbish out of thin air and expect it to pass unnoticed?

As lethal too, if not more so but legal and easily available.

And the figures of women suffering from alcohol induced liver disease and heart disease caused by drinking excessively have never been so high in this country.

A sobering thought - pun intended.

Are you not 'obviously biased?'

Who is dodging logic? Anyone who doesn't see things as you do where Carol McGiffin's concerned?

I think it's a bit of a lost cause. I can understand someone being very anti-alcohol and intolerant of 'irresponsible' drinking as a result of their own experience, but deciding that Carol's b/f is only sticking with her for the money and the lifestyle is pulled out of thin air, biased, hysterical, irrational BS. And I'm happy to call it that.

Apparently yes ! Supposition is very much the order of the day too.

Yes I'm sure we are all biased towards our favourite but the majority don't just make ridiculous things up about those we don't like. We can all comment on what we see in the house and interpret it accordingly but some people just make ludicrous stuff up.

Make sure they're sex toys, just to really stoke up the outrage

No, not sure where you're getting that from. I've already posted in this thread about where I think Carol is in drinking terms - ie. she may have a prob but I'm not one of those people who feels it's useful to diagnose someone on the strength of how they behave on a tv show.

I'm not the one suggesting I know what Carol's b/f feels about her drinking or that he has a problem with it or that he's only with her for the lifestyle. Do you think it's ok for someone to post that as fact?

Yes I agree. All I say to that is it's their health problem not mine. They have also more than paid their NHS costs in excise duty on any alcohol they have consumed. Smokers the same. FACT

I agree it's all NASTY speculative nonsense but good fun arguing about it. No real concern for the human being involved at all.

Like the assertion a few pages back that the dislike for the woman is due to the fact that she hasn't had children and has a 'work ethic' - apparently - decided by two of her fans.

The sour, negative, bitching and two faced aspects of the woman don't appear to be acceptable as reasons to dislike her, so ludicrous stuff like the above has to be invented.

Nobody knows Carol so who is to say she sits every night and drinks in the 'real' world. Like some fm's have said the BB house is not a normal environment there have nothing to do other than have a drink, I can imagine it gets boring. So she likes a drink there is no age limit to say you have to stop enjoying yourself. So she is in the papers drunk it is still not everyday she is allowed nights out. It is unfair to start labelling someone on the basis of a out of ordinary experience which is not everyday life.
