I agree. One of his fears from what he said on this is his temper.
He has done well, then, hasn't he? Unlike some of the others, who haven't been able to control it.

Maybe but it sounds like weary to me and who can blame him if he has been exploited.
Wary makes more sense in the context of what he says - he goes on to say that people have at times exploited him, making him distrustful. Then, towards the end of the clip, he says that he thinks everyone has some good in them, and Lauren agrees. That's not something a person who's weary of people would say.

Well said. I have the same condition as Abz (Asperger's Syndrome), and although I'd dearly love to be able to interact with people as easily as most of the housemates do, that sort of thing is very tiring for me even with people whose company I enjoy. I think Abz doesn't mean that he dislikes humanity, rather that interacting is a strain and can be overwhelming. It's not a pleasant thing to live with, and I take my hat off to him for entering the house and getting this far.
Bless you and thanks for sharing, I think that the fact you can interact and know your limits or tolerance levels is amazing, good luck x

He has said himself in that clip that he has a fiery side.So he has hidden away to avoid showing it? That is not what this show is about, surely? Lets have a house full of people hiding away from what is essentially themselves. That is my point. I know he has an illness but that is NOT what he is talking about.
LOL of course he has a fiery side, he's got Asperger Syndrome. Which is WHY he took himself off and kept his calm and space. Geez.

I only agree with you if having Aspergers Syndrome means he can't control his temper. If that is the case he was right to disassociate himself as much as possible.

Do you know that as fact. I don't, hence the question.

I think the Asperger's would make him more wary of losing his temper, certainly.

Why don't you look up Asperger Syndrome, a lot of people with Aspergers find situations overstimulating and can lose it at the drop of a hat.

Yes I do, given I know a lot of people with different kinds of Autism. I think he's done remarkably and for me he's an inspiration. He's obviously very in touch with himself and been supported well. x

Every single one of them went in there for the money.
But they aren't all supposedly wonderfully spiritual like Abz.

No but maybe that's how he manages himself.

So he's supposed to win because he has Asperger's and kept back throughout the series?

I don't think I saw anyone using Asperger's before tonight to try to defend Abz's lack of involvement. That it's coming in more now suggests that people realise the other cases people tried to make for him have failed.

You sound quite bitter - you really don't like him, do you?
Some people don't like disabilities mentioned, and others don't want to understand that the man has done amazingly well given his 'condition'

Oh good grief, he told the diary room he has Asperger, I've always mentioned it, and I'd like him to win because if he actually wanted to show the world that you can do things outside of the box with Autism why shouldn't he?
I'd love for my child to grow up and be able to manage as Abz has done. He's inspiring.

How was him telling the DR some "using Asperger's before tonight to try to defend Abz's lack of involvement"?

You may have mentioned it, but I've read an awful lot of posts about Abz, and until tonight his Asprger's did not have a major role in attempts to praise and defend and explain him,

So that it's coming in more now does suggest that the other cases people tried to make for him have failed.

Has he said anything about being wary of losing his temper? No.

You've taken the comment out of context, unfortunately.

Look I don't really care if you need justification as to why his Asperger Syndrome matters. It matters to me and that's all that counts. You clearly don't understand the condition and if him being on the show highlights anything its how misinformed people are about the condition. Now please take your annoyance out on anyone but me.

Wish more folk would take the time to understand this condition and the implications on his behavior. Seems a really decent guy - and if I was with that lot of HM's I would be wary also!
You have hit the nail on the head here and I really cannot believe that there are so many ignorant people about when they say they don't understand about him being wary, (yes wary, not weary) of people, especially this nasty bullying, spiteful bunch that were the clique this year. Its no wonder that he said what he did about Carol today or yesterday and not wanting to be in her presence, the same as Louie, they would have just taken the pee out of him even more!

Abz is the only real nice, genuine guy this year and to be in that house with Aspergers and not constantly go on about it is totally amazing. We have all seen how hard it has been for him to hold it together at times and to have the likes of Carol constantly drunk coming into the bedroom waking him up nearly every night must have been a constant nightmare!

I don't need any justification, and I didn't saying anything about needing justification.

It matters to me and that's all that counts.
Then why bother to post about it?

I'm not even annoyed.

But I do think it's very telling that the Asperger's line wasn't taken in a big way until tonight. I've read many discussions about Abz in which it did not appear at all, and people just said he was spiritual and good and kind and wonderful.

Not even when someone mentioned a lack of empathy.

Why do you suppose so many people love him?
Projection on a largely blank canvas + his seeming lack of negatives compared to some other HMs in this CBB.

We've all got a right to post here, and his Asperger Syndrome has been mentioned plenty of times.
So anyway that's all I have to say and I am glad he's in the top 4. He deserves it.

How about you stop making comments about me rather than discussing the show.

I don't dislike him, because even now too little's been shown of him for me to tell whether he should be disliked or not.

However, I don't think he should win, and I think many see him as having positive qualities he hasn't actually shown.

Well Veri, I have wanted Abz to win from the minute that he came into the house. I have followed him on the reunion tour with his band 5 and I have seen some wonderful qualities to him. How kind and generous he is to others and he has got a very spiritual side. I think that from being on drugs to where he is in his life now with his beautiful partner has made him a better person. This is the real Abz and he seems a very lovely person to me and this is why I want him to win!
