Anyone else cringe when they hear this tired phrase?

No, even the queen is considered a peasant in the square compared to the Mitchells.

Like I said in the main thread, the Mitchell family haven't been big news for a very long time.

Ronnie has missed quite a lot though, so as far as she knows the Mitchells could still be big news.

When I hear I'm a Mitchell it reminds me how good EastEnders used to be and shows EastEnders is back on form

Don't get me wrong, I love the Mitchells. But I hate this phrase.

This phrase always makes me laugh.i remember Sam (Kim Medcalfe) saying it before unwittingly signing over the Mitchell empire to Marcus / Dirty Den!

No , I liked it as it was a bit of old school EE . The Mitchell's should be brought back to prominence within the Square. They are much more interesting, have more complex relationships with each other and are more gritty than the Brannings . A Ronnie/ Phil partnership is something I'm very much looking forward to

I quite liked it. It shows her struggle, how she puts on this steely Mitchell experience but then moments later she struggles to hold back the tears. Her return has been really well done to be fair.

Billy last night. "There have been times when I have wanted to run and hide. But I didn't. You know why ? Because I'm a Mitchell". Except for the time he hid in the shower while Jace was being murdered. Nice one, Bill. A total loser and cowardly hypocrite.

Yeah Billy's hilarious but I think that's kind of the point. The loveable loser!

Well it's been a long time since we heard that phrase and the show has not exactly been riveting the past couple of years, so yes I really liked hearing it again (even if it is a bit corny......)! I can't wait to hear Phil say it as he stamps on Carl's head

The dissolution of the mitchells and the shows quality seem to be intertwined. I always thought the family was overhyped and overexposed but the shift from the mitchells to the brannings as the top family really showed how irreplaceable the former are.

The change worked initially when peggy left, the mitchells head woman was...erm....shirley (really matriarch material there) and the show remebered carol and her family were brannings too. But the wheels started to fall off when tanya, then derek and off course alice/joey arrived.

When ronnie said it it was like a touch of the ee we haven't seen in the last 3 years.
