Everyone was unhappy when a quiet personality one the regular one.

A complete opposite won the celeb one.

Can't have it both ways

I was happy enough with both, to be honest. Sam was the only unloathsome person left in the civilian one. Charlotte was far and away the most entertaining, her nearest rivals for that were Carol and Lauren. She's also the bravest and most sincere person that stepped into CBB this time, bar perhaps Abz, but he really wasn't shown enough or didn;t do enough to justify his placing. Am sure he was lovely to live with, but he wasn't great to watch, as far as we were allowed to watch him.

Great final 4 this year. With the exception of Abz, three really big characters. And - unlike Sam - Abz seems a genuinely good and interesting guy, and came second for that sole reason.

IMO there was far better, much more deserving big characters

Not very keen on Charlotte but Paddy was the worst ever winner IMO.

Exactly! People on here are such hypocrites and think their moral Gods or something it's really quite sad...

I genuinely dislike her, and her comments towards Abz/Lauren in the past. I think her personality in the house has definitely been exaggerated in attempt to win, to please her fans, fake even. I just don't like her in my opinion, I don't think she's one hundred percent real, or at all deserving, but I'll be over it by tomorrow after a good amount of ranting.

So a character is measured by their crassness, lack of social graces, uneducated behaviour? Bravo....

As far as big characters goes Charlotte was behind Carol, Louie, Lauren and Courtney.

So why on earth did she come first?

She was the biggest character to the demographic whose vote they want

How was she a character ? I don't see it. She was loud at times but she never said or did anything interesting.

Being 'quiet' isn't the vote-winning characteristic. It's not the sole defining characteristic. It's not a reductive formula.

Where Sam was boring, Abz was fascinating to me.

Where Sam was ordinary, Abz was eccentric.

Where Sam was the lesser of several 'evils', Abz was a million miles from the word and gained support by being deep, spiritual, peaceful and loving.

I think they learnt a bit from CBB9 and 10 to make sure there's an obviously popular housemate for the 13-30 demographics to get some younger winners.

We've gone from 5 series where the oldest or second oldest won, to three under-25 winners in a row.

That's how I saw Abz too. Agree.

No, bravery and sincerity, as i said several posts above yours. Are you having problems keeping up with the thread?

Yes, and as it happened, BB / C5 managed to make it seem to many that they'd turned away from having so many young HMs and were had listened to the demands for older ones. Nice.

I am happy to believe that people found Abz fascinating, because a huge range of things can be fascinating. (I used a housemate sitting alone in the garden as an example well before this CBB.) But they aren't necessarily things that mean the HM ought to win.

Anyway, I wonder (and would genuinely like to know) what about Abz, or what he did or said, fascinated.

I have NO problems keeping up with threads, although the same can not be said about my empathy with chav mentality.

If bravery and sincerity are your measure of 'character' - and I do not disagree they are both great qualities in my definition of character too - unfortunately neither, in my humble opinion, can be attributed to Charlotte. Possibly to Lauren and Abz. Never to Charlotte.

So a woman with all the charm of an infected boil and who thinks wetting her bed is big and clever is considered a character? Sorry, but to me, a character is someone who has achieved something in life, has something interesting to say and is entertaining. None of those things apply to Charlotte.

Hilarious. You obviously missed the bits where she changed character in the DR which revealed what she was doing was acting. There's nothing brave about sitting in a house for three weeks and she was consistently insincere, but you love her for it, so that's fine.

We all knew she was going to win, so it's all played out the way we expected. The only surprise in the whole CBB was Louie going out, but I'm glad he never made the Final because his act was as contrived as Charlotte's was. She just has more supporters. The public, as Mario so accurately pointed out, are thick and they want a winner they can identify with.

I agree. I didn't feel shocked by her behaviour, nor entertained by it. I found her rather boring tbh
