Hi,

After reading through some posts, I understand that the PS Plus subs are stacked (i.e. if you are in a middle of a sub, anything bought during it will be added on straight after expiry of current sub).

My situation is I'm currently halfway through a free month trial period for PS Plus. I would like to get the 12 + 3 month offer via PSN that ends this month. However I don't want it to continue straight after my one month trial ends. Do I have the ability to activate it (and still keep the 3 months free) at a later date if I bought it today?

Reason I'm doing this is I would like to start using it when the PS4 comes out. I'm thinking of selling my PS3 next week, so if I bought the 12 + 3 offer now and it gets activated straight away, I would have wasted 2 months of it as I have no console.

Hope that's understandable! Any advice would be appreciated!!!

To get the 12 + 3 months offer you have to buy from PSN, which means I think it will be activated straight away. I don't think you can say when you want it to start.

I think the cheapest way to get the offer at the minute is to buy a PSN card (instant code) from cdkeys , using the 5% discount (like on facebook), add the card to your wallet then buy PS+ sub. Works out that you'll get the 15 months for just under 34. Either that or get a 365 sub card (instore at hmv, see hukd) for 30 and keep it until you want to activate it. Therefore, for you it would work out as 34 for 13 usable months, or 12 for 30.

I was in a similar dilemma, but I don't have a plus subscription atm.
With plus subs being available for about 34 from online retailers I decided to wait until nearer the time my ps4 arrives due to the current offer 12+3 starting straight away so I would lose a couple of months as I don't have a ps3.
With needing a plus sub to play online with the ps4, I'm wondering if we get to see similar offers as we've seen with Xbox live.

Thanks for the advice claymore74. That HMV deal is a good spot:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/play...orsham-1655032

I'll check out my local HMV and see if they do it. If they do, then it seems like a no brainer. You can get the equivalent of 15 months for 37.98, with the advantage of activating it whenever we want. Only proviso is that they do that offer in my local HMV.

The 12 + 3 offer via PSN seems pretty ordinary when there's regularly similar offers online in some shape or form. I guess it's convenience for those who don't shop around.

One other thing, I'm assuming that getting PSN cards allow you to use it on anything on PSN (including online games, paying for PS Plus sub etc), but getting a PS Plus card only lets you pay for the PS Plus sub and nothing else. Am I missing something here? Why not just have one PS card that allows you to do anything or am I just easily confused?

i think the psn offer was good when announced, and retailers have reduced their price to compensate.

You're correct re the cards, psn cards are more flexible, but if you get a good deal on the ps+ cards then it just saves you money. they're also good for presents for stubborn people that don't see the value of ps+ until you shove it under their nose!

A friend got a free PS+ code with a game he bought when he tried to enter it recently it said it wasn't valid, this was a couple of months after buying the game. So I would be wary about buying a PS+ code and holding onto it for a few months.

These offers come around all the time anyway so I wouldn't worry about missing this offer, there will likely be one around the PS4 launch and if not there will probably be another offer at Christmas.

Went to my local HMV today and bought 2 x 1 year sub at 29.99. The card said activation expires end of 2015, so plenty of time to leave it for the PS4. Hope there isn't a problem with activating it in Dec though, guy at the desk said there won't be a problem.

Just looking through the games available, are they not giving away PsOne games anymore?

That stopped about 2 years ago along with Minis.

US PS+ers seem to get shafted with PS2/PSP games quite regularly though. PS+ in Europe has been consistently better than the US since the IGC was announced and I hope SCEE continue as they have been doing.
