The detective talking to Jason outside the pub was rubbish. Poor acting. Why do soaps always portray cops in a bad light.

And ridiculously aggressive and unsupportive. I know someone down my street who murdered someone but I'm not going to report it. I don't want to be shouted at and treated like I am telling lies.

I never forgot the way they treated Carla after she was raped

that ugly bald one at the front annoyed me the most.

Wait a minute - in that storyline the police were understanding as far as I remember.

TBF all soap Police are total muppets and just a waste of space.

The scenes at the police station were ludicrous too. Jason was reporting to them that he knew the identity of an arsonist and murderer and the desk sergeant reacted as if he was annoyed and deeply irritated at having to deal with the matter.

Unbelievable, as the Rovers fire would have been one of the most serious incidents the station's detectives would have had to deal with in the previous 12 months, especially with a fire officer dying in the blaze.

I think Dev and Jason should join the police force they did the job WAY BETTER

I think the police in corrie were funny last night, especially the desk Sargent who was more concerned with called 'old' then a killer and arsonist on the loose.

Hey, the guy knew how to prioritise. It was much more important that he arranged for the police tape to go up. In fact he was so efficient, the police tape actually went up before the police even arrived. How good is that?

I think the fact that Jason Grimshaw found the murderer before the police says enough.

Poor Dev! Just left sprawled on the floor in the middle of the street!

they had a potential hostage and/or arson situation, and they set up a cordon that was about three metres wide and let about five people cross it?

i could have set up and enforced a better scene and i'm only a PCSO

As if the police at the desk wouldn't have known about the Rovers fire, it only happened a few months ago and was a high profile case so he would have easily found the detective who worked on the case.
Also they just left Dev lying on the ground.

But if the police in soaps were any good the charecters would be redundent.... if Jason had gone to the police station and the police had raced to the Rovers Dev would not have got to hear Karl's confession. It's necessary for the police to be rubbish to let the story line carry on.

What really made me lmao was Dev unconscious and then stirring and sending Jason a coherent and concise text :D then he appeared to loose consciousness again and was carried out to lie in the gutter

Same here, he even put a comma in there. Surely 'help rovers' would have been a more believable text.

Well in all seriousness, how was the guy meant to find out which detective it was when "old" was the only description he got?

Also, they aren't just going to go and arrest somebody because an angry young man walks into the station and tells them they should.

Dev should've just said to Jason 'fcuk the Po-lice', then gone in good style as a bad boy twosome to confront Karl.
