found on Hot UK Deals here ..

http://www.hotukdeals.com/freebies/f...tplace-1655797

It apparently works. Not sure about the risk of the ban hammer though so obviously go ahead at your own risk.

Nice

I've only got a little 20gb HDD so i can only get a couple, but at least that couple is Dragon's Lair, Flashback and Injustice.

If any more pop up then i'll have to get a bigger boat .. err .. i mean hard drive

That's a pretty good deal but unfortunately for me I've already bought the games I was interested in on that list. I did download Injustice with a Slovakian account a few days ago when I heard about that but soon realised it wasn't worth the bother as it's just a Mortal Kombat game in different clothes, so I deleted it.

The main problem with doing this is you have to keep the fake account on the Xbox in case you need to redownload the game again which I can't be bothered with doing things like that.

I don't mind keeping the spare account though - it's only me who uses the console and it's not like it's taking up tons of space.

I doubt i'll last long with Injustice either - I'm rubbish with beat-em-ups.

I did read that a few months ago, you could have got Assassin's Creed 3 and the Angry Birds Trilogy with the same glitch - would have been nice!

I'm glad i didn't get these games then. Isn't it wrong of Microsoft to ban people though ? isn't this their fault ?

True, but i don't see how it's wrong what they are doing, if Microsoft have a problem with this then why don't they just make the same deals available for everyone ?

Of course we can still play our games, it just means no xbox live, i myself like many others thinks it just bad timing as well as MS are kicking there selfs in the balls just before xbox one launch, i for one wont be getting it now and now going for ps4 , people what say that we deserve it talk out of there "A*s because if you see somthing for free or cheaper wouldnt you take it or travel further? 7 years they have had off me and extras +family members and i think its pathetic that they would do this, maybe for future people that they could do a 3 strikes and you out...

No need to be a prick about it.

Unlucky for those that were banned, console ban too.

Just reading some more, seemingly it was posted nearly everywhere, I missed it luckily. I wonder how many people will jump to Sony now so close to the next console.

I just had a look at the official 360 forum. Literally PAGES of threads asking why they were banned. I read through quite a bit before i got bored. Every single one claimed they were innocent of any wrongdoing. Not one person owned up. And as expected, lots of whining about possibly switching to Sony.

I have no idea why people are so insistent on breaking rules.

MS have a right to protect its assets and make right what others have chosen to take advantage of... That being said It's a shame so many people got their consoles banned permanently. Bad timing, with brand loyalty being at an all time low.

They didn't have much of a choice, the games once downloaded free were on that tag and console forever with no way whatsoever for MS to remove them. So MS decided it was best to ban both. Seeing the amount of forums this has been on surely the bans ran into the tens of thousands. That is an awful lot of pissed off customers you are hoping join you in the next gen.

What exactly have these people done wrong?

Microsoft offer free accounts, people signed up to a free account and then download content that was offered for free on those accounts.

I think there were glitches in some regions and games ended up being free if you had an account for that region. So people set up accounts for that region and got the free glitch. Quite a few games too.

EDIT: just reading back on this thread some are saying it was a deal for that region, surely Injustice wasn't being given away for free was it?

I was on last night and my mate told me that half his mates have been banned for stealing games that were free for other regions and he doesn't think that it is fair. He also doesn't think that the punishment fits the crime. I laughed. He has downloaded all the games but only played powerslide wrc or something, but doesn't know if he will get a ban as well.

What really gets me is that he doesn't think that he stole the games. He created accounts from other regions, stating that he was living in these countries, so he could help himself to the freebies offered in these regions. If he was entitled to them then they would be available to him via his uk account and if he feels hard done by he should move to aman or morocco etc

what the f*k do/did Microsoft expect ?. Offering free games in other regions will bring it's own trouble. For instance, when WSOP Beta became available in the US and Canada, how many UK 360 gamers made up an account just to download it ?. 00's perhaps 000's. If MS don't want gamers doing this then stop offering games in some regions and not in others.

I can see both sides of the argument, but MS shoudln't really be dishing out console bans, just the account that was used to download the games and the removal of said games would be sufficient, or temp ban even.

They have no option as the free game is on that console forever so its the only punishment they can give out. Although its very harsh. But banning somebody's Gamertag (not the one used to download) is poor from MS. That tag wasn't used to download the game, and it isn't in any way tied to the game. So if your family shared the xbox all tags would be banned.

They do have the power to remove it from your download history and reset the purchase. Perhaps that wouldn't of been enough to deter people from doing it again though, that's clearly the message MS are trying to send out here.

I do agree that the ban is too much, plus it harms them for future custom. Maybe giving the person the option to -

a) Delete the game if you have not played it yet
b) Just delete the game of the suspected accounts
c) If they have played the game then offer them the chance to pay for it or ban there gamertag but not there console. Let them buy a new xbox live account if they want.

But how would this stop them playing the game on the console they downloaded it on as they have already downloaded and unlocked it.
