I know we haven't seen much, but I was pleasently surprised by her training video. I kind of suspected a bit of a dizzy Victoria Pendleton scenario again but she looks so elegant.

We'll need to see a latin dance to see how good she is but ballroom is looking great so far!

I hope so - I've seen a few people write her off so I hope she proves them wrong

More like a pasty ghost really

I think she's more likely to be considered a front runner, than a dark horse! She's just the type that people will predict to be really good, though whether she actually is, will be a different matter.

I hope she does turn out to be excellent though, and I think her and Brendan are quite a good pairing.

Me too. She's young, a pop star, people have heard of her. I'd call Fiona more of a dark horse if she turns out to be like Cherie Lunghi.

Looking forward to her tango.

Victoria Pendleton is NOT dizzy

Sophie Ellis Bextor will NOT win

of these 2 things I am certain

I do feel sorry for Sophie, like Victoria and Lulu before her.

(Regular viewers know that Terry's support is like a dart to a dinghy.)

She seems keen, clever and poised, she has the potential to do very well.

Yeah I was going to say, dark horse is usually the un-expected paring, but atm it feels like any couple that is deemed good looking pairing (inc Sophie and Bren) is tipped to do well (even if on very little evidence of what we've seen so far).

That sounds quite sound to me.

No. She's just Sophie.

I'm waiting for her personality to arrive.

I would expect her to have some natural rhythm , due to her musicality

Never heard that one before though I do remember that back in his Never Mind The Buzzcocks days Mark Lamarr used to be obsessed with making jokes that she looked like a cat. Wonder why. Maybe she knocked him back once...

Yes, this makes good sense.

I would agree, based on what we have seen to-date.

We shall see I hope Brendan can get her through, He has done it before. Hope she can dance and bogie and she isn't murder on the dance floor.

People are overestimating her if anything. She wont win.

her latin will never be good enough to win on dancing.
she wont go far through personality - she seems Aloof and a cold fish.
she cant have much of an active fanbase. When was her last hit?
she wont get the eye candy vote. Women will call her beautiful and elegant but most men wont fancy her

She might make top 5 but I cant see her winning.

Yes but she might have enough of the combination and have a good journey revealing more as the show progresses. It's way way to early to predict winners

Don't see her as a journey contestant either. I dont think 30 something pop stars can really go on journeys on SCD.

I think you are right.

Prior to the launch show Sophie was my favourite of the celebs. She's been ousted to second place by Susanna. I'm one of those, perhaps a minority, that dislikes Brendan and so I'm underwhelmed by their partnership. I would have preferred her to be partnered with Artem, or maybe Pasha.

Even though she's my second fav celeb I don't think she's a contender based on what's been seen thus far.

I don't want to see that.
