His return sounds very poor. I wish they'd stop with this retconned love story between Carol and David. Those of us who watched in the 90's know it never happened. I also don't care about Carol and Masood's relationship. It's barely been featured on screen so why should anyone invest in it?

Yes they really shouldn't have gone down the love triangle plot, but still I'm looking forward to seeing David interacting with his grandchildren who he barely knows, his stepsister Janine and his half brother Ian.

Does he impregnate Peggy and they run off in the sunset together?

I can see David getting with Ronnie or even Denise. Not that I'm bothered about who he beds, it's his impact on Ian and Bianca's family that interests me.

Nooooo. David needs to stay away from Denise. I really want Ian and David to make up.

The only thing of interest to me is how Ian and David interact after all these years. They glossed right over it during his last visit.

Denise getting with David would be brilliant for the Ian/David dynamic.

It wouldn't brilliant, it would be rehashing previous storylines that have happened.

I more optimistic about David's return because he is stepping back into a well-established family - he's not returning as a lone character like Sharon did. However I also wish they'd drop this David/Carol 'love story'. David got Carol pregnant at 14, then in the 90s he only ever slept with Carol after he'd been rejected by everyone else. Hardly Romeo and Juliet.

Rehashing old storylines is EE's speciality. I can't wait for Philth's next car crash.

I can't think of any other reason why they have put Denise with Ian after all this time. They just don't make sense as a couple, and let's face it, Denise is a very beautiful woman. As for making up, maybe one day, but not yet.

Does anyone else hate Denise and Ian together? She treats him like a child and is so condescending. It really grates on me.

Or simply a nod to the past. It doesn't have to be an affair. It's unlikely Denise will stand by Ian when she finds out he lied about Max.

Good (not your irritation) - her treatment.

I suppose he does deserve it

I hope they break up soon. Awful pairing.

I like Ian, but he DOES behave and act like a child sometimes. Even with Jane, whom I thought and still think was Ian's best match of a partner, he behaved like a prized prick and then some.

Act like a man-child expect to be treated like one:sleep:

Oh I agree. He deserves everything he gets. Ian and Jane seemed to be on the same level for the most part (when he wasn't taking advantage of her that is). With Denise it seems like she's in charge - the mother, if you will - while Ian is the child. It's all a bit vomit inducing at times

I'm really looking forward to David's return. He's one of my favourite male characters in EE. I really hope they don't put him together with Carol. She's too dull and domesticated for him.

I want to see him take over the car lot, or run it alongside Max. More focus on his relationship with Bianca and his grandchildren would be good too. A romance with Ronnie or Roxy would be good too.

I hope they do resolve things, and I hope Ian treats Bianca like a family member after everything is sorted,

as David was the reason Ian has been treating Bianca like shit all these years!
