Here's that clip of Nicky doing Sex On Fire. Shame it appears to be set in a pub from Trainspotting but he does sound great on it

Haha. Ok! Well then, I would guess that would be me for not knowing what it meant!
Re. The 'baby buble' thing, I think you are right. I was cringing inside for Nicky when they gelled his hair down and stuck him in a suit. It was just so wrong .

It'll be really interesting to find out what songs Nick performs today, if it gives any kind of insight into what future direction he might be thinking of going in. If he does anything that he didn't do on the xfactor.
Yes, I'm looking forward to hearing what he does. Over 1000 tickets sold out for Garage gig! They are making twitter pleas for blankets because they've been queuing for so long

You are certainly better informed on the music industry/vocal technicalities than I am!

That's a decent sized venue! I went to see the Pixies a couple of weeks ago and I don't think that could have been more than that, and they're A Terribly Important Band. |

I tried to get tickets for Glasgow Barrowlands but sold out. Love Nicky doing Sex on Fire. Here's another one from that very same Trainspotting pub. Big band song but my god what a voice! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WD265pRJsH0 |

Ok, I want your feedbacks guys and girls.
https://soundcloud.com/hitstastic/hi...ic-game-player A song I made about two years ago and recently tweaked before uploading to SoundCloud. Does this sound like the type of song you'd expect Nicholas to record? I messaged his mum Eileen (maybe a tad crazy looking back, I was kinda drunk on Boxing Day and just thought what the hell). Haven't a clue if Eileen has read my post but I really hope Nicky gets a decent team of writers behind him. As someone who has been writing/producing just as an interest for several years I'd love to put some tracks forward, just don't know how to go about it. In my message i also added: Glasgow Commonwealth Games - Nicky getting to perform at the opening ceremony would be excellent. 23rd November 2014 - his 18th birthday next year falls on a Sunday. What better birthday present than getting a UK #1 single that day. I'm just like others here, if only i was working in the music industry I'd really support him as an artist. His vocal tone is spot on, not too nasal or theatrical like Joe McElderry, not too gravel pit like Luke Friend, and not tone deaf like Leon Jackson. I agree with mmpfb, this was the first time in 10 years I got behind a young male singer on the show. I usually always prefer the female contestants (eg; Ella Henderson being my fave in 2012 and thought the final 5 in 2012 was shockingly bad with James Arthur the best of a bad bunch). |

I usually always prefer the female contestants (eg; Ella Henderson being my fave in 2012 and thought the final 5 in 2012 was shockingly bad with James Arthur the best of a bad bunch). I don't know how you'd go about putting songs forward, I'm afraid. I'm no songwriter, which is a very specific skill, I just tend to take acapellas and do slightly perverse remixes of them, disco versions of Plan B songs etc for fun. From what I know, which isn't very much, you need to get a publishing deal - there are publishers and then there are record companies who license songs from the publishers - there are often songs that are sitting round for years before someone records them (or at least releases it). We Found Love was nearly done by Leona Lewis for instance, I believe, though obviously Calvin Harris has his own cachet currently. So, I guess you would submit your demos to a publishing company in much the same way an author might submit their manuscripts to a book publisher in the hope they might pick you up. Once your on their books then they'd pimp out your songs to labels looking for songs for some of their artists. The other alternative I suppose would be to look into those big teams like Xenomania who operate in a different way - IIRC there's about 30 of them all basically hanging out in a house and they all collaborate constantly, being very ruthless in what they keep to use and what they throw out as the Xenomania director decrees. There was a very interesting article on the Pet Shop Boys working with them a few years ago, might be google-able. It sounds almost like a sort of pop art school - all very fluid roles. I'd imagine getting involved in a place like that would lead to learning a HUGE amount about songwriting, but I also imagine they're nigh on impossible to get into. |

Awww what a wee star he is up on that stage!
Merry Christmas Sean! Hitstastic - that's a catchy tune. I agree it's not so much something I would imagine Nicky singing, rather than listening and dancing to. Good luck. |

The personality we saw on stage and what was shown on Extra were 2 completely different things.
You can see the star quality on the YouTube clips posted on here from The Garage. Here's a wee Daily Record article if you haven't seen it: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/enterta...donald-2972376 |

Yeah he's a cheeky little bugger off stage, and it does seem to come through off of the main show. I can only think he was given some really bad advice, whether deliberate or not. He seems much more at ease performing at The Garage. I think if he got the sense the show was working against as we suspect it must have affected his ease on stage.
Hopefully that side of him will come over more on the XF tour and he'll win over a lot of the doubters. Don't they mix it up a bit more on the tour? Lots of duets/group numbers as well as the individual performances? (I've never been) |
