Yes, Ulster is way more closely tied to Scotland than the Irish Republic is, though it mostly manifests as the Old Firm and casual sectarianism up here.

This is the internet and I can choose to read anything in any manner I like. I stick by my choice

I think he's actually based in London. He tweeted from some Wandsworth watering hole the other day.

It's probably a fairly sound choice really

Ahahahaha, this is hilarious

I'm sure he does

Because no one ever went from Brighton to London for a day/night out, amirite. But London's even better!

Well, it's a poor substitute for a Nicky follow. But I'll take it for the moment

LOL just watched Nicky's attempt at making pancakes. It sure looks better than the pancakes I made when I was his age.

Re; The AnswerphOne mash up, I now understand the "step up" bassline thing. That's actually how the bassline goes in the Freemasons remix of The One so was trying to get the same bassline into the mash up.

Do you think it'd sound better without the step up bass? One thing I don't understand about that clip of the chorus is that when I play it on my iMac it sounds so much more clean and smooth. Yet the streaming on ZippyShare makes it sounds fuzzy and like it's a low quality mp3 playing.

Well isn't the zippy share thing an mp3 of it? Therefore it will be compressed - what bit rate is it at?

I'm not keen on the step up's on the bass, they feel out of place to me, possibly they clash somehow with Nicky's vocals. Personally I would probably keep the bass to the root at that point.

I've tweeted Nicky twice, saying he needs to release an acapella of Answerphone, btw. Obviously he's completely ignored it

Maybe you need to tweet RCA Group UK instead. I very much doubt Nicky would know much about acapellas and stuff like this.

No, I converted the mp3 myself at 320 kbps so highest quality. It just sounds different when I stream the mp3 on Zippy Share for some reason.

I might redo the bass without the step ups and see how that goes.

It's only going to be some social media monkey who sees it though if I do that.

Young reviewer Mary Finnigan reviews X Factor Live Tour at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena

... Biggest crowd pleasers however, were Luke Friend and Nicholas McDonald. They sang to swarms of screaming girls everything from Flying Without Wings to Play That Funky Music.

- the public looks quite mixed

Some good pictures there, especially the one of Tamera and one of the ones of Sam C. The audience doesn't look very happy! But you're right, it's a lot more mixed than I expected; I suppose a lot of the older people are there supervising their kids though.

Are they in Glasgow today?

The Glasgow gig is on Saturday I think, so I guess they have a break of a few days? I guess that's why Nicky's doing his 'biggest ever follow spree' tonight - he's probably back at home. Though it would be good if they'd taken this opportunity for some more promo. Follow sprees aren't really going to help with sales :/

My God, that audience shot is hysterical. I hope that was before the show had started rather than through anyone's performance! Also, why is Luke fellating a triffid?

Good to hear Nicky's getting a good response though, in England too! (though I suppose Newcastle isn't the same as the UKIP/Tory heartlands of the South East)

Ah, seems he's heading to Yorkhill again today.

Ah right, Sam C tweeted a picture of him on a bus to Glasgow that I assumed was the tour bus but maybe was just the megabus or something. I think he's based in Glasgow and he was down with his family in england the other week for that soccer sixes thing, so maybe he came home for a few days. I wasn't going to track down their hotel or anything. Nope.

They do look incredibly unhappy

Quote:

I always thought he seemed a bit asexual, even when I was most fond of him. Perhaps that's why.

But yeah, the set decor is odd, all the teacups did my head in too.

I'm sure he's absolutely distraught that UKIP aren't getting behind him

Yeah I think Sam C was heading up separately. I think he said something about re-joining the others. I wonder if they'll all have a sleepover at Nicky's this time *innocent face*

Hannah is apparently going on a 'date' with Nicky's mate Daryl

Phenomenally so. Listless and grumpy, like they're waiting on terrifying test results or something.

I was going to type something here but I've thought better of it, as Red will get upset with me. *strained innocent face*

Teacups? Where, what?

I assume they're going for a pastoral theme with Luke. Someone on the art direction team saw a Nick Drake cd once and thought 'Oh that' so perfect for Luke. He plays guitar and is familiar with trees'

Honestly, I was up back where I grew up briefly last year around the time of the elections (council?), funnily enough en route to Glasgow, and every other house had a ****ing UKIP poster-board outside. It was very League of Gentlemen.

But it's fine to upset me by not typing it? Thanks.

You don't get upset by me saying I don't get the attraction of Luke though! Oh hang on, I've misread that. Ok, so now I'm in a no-win situation. I can't remember what I was going to type now either. Oh life.
