Poor Nicky though, makes you wonder if he's had a meeting today and was told something he wasn't too happy about.

I shouldn't be so critical of Elyah but he just seems completely void of any personality. I just find it difficult to understand the appeal of a pop star who is just a poster face with an ok voice (he can sing in tune...but then so can I) but there's nothing other than that.

Just thinking about my second to last post, it's reemphasised our discussion on here about why the X Factor producers didn't want Nicky to win. Maybe they genuinely thought he wouldn't cope with the immense added pressure and throw in the towel very early on.

Maybe, just maybe, they actually felt they would be doing Nicky a massive favour by ensuring he didn't win. It also makes me think whether or not Nicky is really hard on himself, like he blames himself when things go wrong. I'd hate to think that was the case though.

Yeah that's what I was wondering too. Record contracts can be terribly insecure and I think he certainly does put pressure on himself. Hopefully it's more positive and just a sign of his determination.

I know I've not been the biggest supporter of Answerphone but I'd be interested in hearing how Nicky sounds singing to the backing track. Those acoustic performances he did for STV and the Daybreak website really weren't much cop at all, and I know Nicky sings a billion times better than those acoustic performances suggested.

Sounds like he's hitting those top notes on 'pick up' that he struggled with on the Daytime internet clip - I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was just because he was sitting down. Someone from his record company (or even the musicians accompanying him) really should have picked up on that and resolved it at the time.

The thing with those session musicians is that they were probably 0% interested in those performances. Just play the chords/bang the wooden plate and look forward to pay day.

Nicky really needs to build up a band where he is genuinely good mates with them. It would sure help him out tenfold for all future gigs he has. Having that silly banter with your band whilst on stage could become as key a part of his shows as his current trend of filming the audience after the gig on his phone. It's become something of a Nicky trademark, and it's cool that he's doing things like this. It's what makes Nicky who he is.

Yeah but they're still professionals. A simple suggestion of transposing the key down a tone isn't really much of a bother!
