I know this is completely random but I don't know where else to post this.

Just saw this on Twitter.

I'm actually surprised and find that so brilliantly funny. It was a song I did back in 2005 with a lad I knew called David Hedley. Honestly can't believe this radio station played the song last week. LOL

Very fine voice. Is it possible that his voice is getting even better already?

Yeah, I think so, and he seems to have lost some of the cracks and breaks we heard on the tour. I suppose you change quickly at that age, she said, feeling ancient

There seems to be a new richness in some of the songs, more depth and assurance. I still think he's going to get better and better though.

Yeah, I reckon so too. I wonder if Nicky has got a vocal coach who understands his voice and what makes it so rich and warm and well, just so lovely to listen to.

It's like the remix I did for Forever On The Dancefloor, that might be the last type of music Nicky wants to venture into but I really think the way he sings Forever sounds brilliant with that full on dance production sound. It also, dare I say it, makes Nicky sound current and relevant to what's popular right now. Even more so than Answerphone which sits quite comfortably in the 5 Seconds Of Summer/The Vamps/Elyah Fox category.

That's what makes it so exciting, isn't it? There are so many directions he could go in. I wonder what he would really like to do?

GB alert - James Corden is doing a programme about him on BBC1 on May Day. Why??

He's definitely getting more and more assured as a performer. . I was really impressed with how he used the stage on the XF tour. I think also, although the schedule of that tour probably exhausted him somewhat and took it's toll short term on his voice, it's probably strengthened it ultimately. He does just seem to get better and better - his control and understanding of how to use things like timbre and legato was already pretty astonishing for a young kid, but the assurance with which he's using those things now is definitely a step up. He really is an exceptional singer and if he doesn't get shafted by the industry he could really be something else in a few years.

On Nicky?

Where did you get this info from? Whatever it is, I hope it's something to help Nicky firmly establish himself as a singer with longevity.

Sorry all - GB did indeed refer to Gary Barlow. I was so fed up with yet more blatant manipulation on TV (I'd put money on it being Sir G within a year) that I went to bed with a good book so missed your posts

It was a puff piece, all Gary's a good bloke, loads of personality, witty and charming (!) and 'a true renaissance man', for a programme going out on May 5th. Can you blame me for throwing in the towel? Don't think there were any mentions of anything about XF or any of the contestants who helped put GB on prime time telly for weeks on end, but there could be in the programme itself I suppose.

Nicky'll always be the one with the better voice though

I'm really unsure why Radio 1 haven't thought about getting Nicky involved with the Big Weekend event. Maybe they don't think he's established enough, or maybe someone at RCA or Shaw Thing Management isn't successful when it comes to PR & Marketing.

Shame as I really think this would be a perfect way to get more experience, more recognition, more exposure and ultimately more sales if they do intend on releasing a single in the summer.

It's in Glasgow for crying out loud.

That's pretty big time - I hope he manages at least to get a ticket

Still no developments on the website, although they had a tab for bookings which seems to have disappeared today. Pity none of teamnicky took some footage from The Garage to post on the website, or on YouTube. There's not been much posted so far.

Anyway, I have a new game to play in the car - play CD's and guess which ones would suit Nicky. The Lumineers Slow it Down is the current front runner, but it'll be something different tomorrow lol. Good game though
