Yus, Stephen Fry, how did that happen?

For that to happen I would have to continually and perpetually throw dignity to the wind. I don't think I have it in me. I fear the silent judgement of others far too much. It would be easier to revise my career, become a much much better songwriter/producer, get employed by RCA to, as luck would have it, work on Nicky's second album. *Then* I can force him to follow me/validate my existence.

It's much less exciting than it could have been Just both being really early adopters, when there were about five people on twitter and we all followed each other because there was no one else to talk to. I still like it though, sad as it may be

D'oh. See, this is the problem with posting late at night/early AM - I'm much more inclined to ham up my latent fangirl tendencies at that time. Then I'll read what I've written in the cold light of morning and suddenly get the fear that I've come across completely hatstand.

Well I'm glad that's all cleared up!

There's a good video interview with Nicky here from last night. There's some positive stuff in there (and also some slightly worrying stuff)

Worrying stuff: His mum's still his manager (surely not a good idea - does she have any real experience at all?). Recording the album has been completed (at least his vocals have) in less than a week, though I guess production and arrangements can be worked on up until release. Oh, and it's coming out on Mother's Day (apparently Nicky's choice)

Good stuff: There's definitely original stuff on there too, so not all covers. He comes across very, very well. There are several (decent sounding) producers working on it.

Interesting stuff: He's a bit more candid than previously about how the show tried to push him down a certain route with the song choices etc. [insert imaginary ponder-smiley]
