Reach Autism Fundraiser - 'Rock Reach' Nicholas McDonald

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rc0QJCsL_hI

Enjoy.

Ps. Haven't a clue who Marco McCulloch is but he butchers Leave Right Now. I get the impression he's meant to be some comedy act otherwise that's really poor.

Festivals on the continent are contracting their main acts for next summer now. Some have to reschedule for a few days for getting agendas of the headline artists and the festivals properly matched, as e.g. RockWerchter: traditionally at the beginning of July, now at the end of June: http://www.rockwerchter.be/en

I went to Rock Reach, and if I remember correctly, Marco may have been a service user, and like all the other amateurs there, deserved support, such as was obviously shown by the crowd. Nicky has plenty of time and compassion for everybody and perhaps we should aspire to that too.

Aww, it makes me wish he was a comedy act as that way I'd have been less "honest" with my opinion.

So here's what Nicky has tweeted today.

Quote:
“I notice everything, I just act like I don't.”

Don't know where Nicky got this from but I love it. Why? Because I'm exactly the same - it's a skill I don't ever intend on losing either. It's great being a alert and observant without making it obvious that you've clocked someone/something. The looking from the corner of the eyes is a beautiful thing, so I think I know exactly what Nicky is getting at.

Quote:
“Got up this morning with a sore throat a nice cup of tea should help”

Can't beat a nice cuppa. Honey and lemon just isn't good enough.

Quote:
“Starting to organising my 18th this week. Its so stressful .. Venues .. Dj's .. Everything”

Indeed, it's only about 5/6 weeks until Nicky turns 18. Imagine that being said in a strong Scottish accent "EECKTEEN" lol Kudos to Nicky if he's organising it all himself. Mind you, did Luke organise his 18th birthday bash all by himself?

On a seperate note I was...y'know, chatting to a certain lady called Eileen on FB ( ) about Nicky's gigs in Estonia and Latvia in February 2015. They haven't released details yet about this so more details will be announced in due course.

Just had a random thought. Wouldn't it be excellent if they allowed Nicky to do a small promotional tour whilst he's in Europe by getting him to perform at a couple of the popular radio stations out there. I bit like how Radio 1 does it's Live Lounge.

I just think something stripped back and acoustic (but not Answerphone please) where Nicky just sings at his most natural and comfortable. Imagine Nicky singing a track like All Of Me - only preferably a new song that's similar to this. I've no doubt it'd go down really well and could help Nicky start getting chart success outside the UK & Ireland.

The potential is still boundless...

Reminder: this Saturday

...Now the St Andrew’s Academy pupil [Colby Reid] is looking forward to performing alongside Westlife crooner Brian McFadden, Scots actor Martin Compston and X Factor runner-up Nicholas McDonald at the John Hartson Foundation Ball.

All proceeds from the black tie event at the Thistle Hotel, in Glasgow, on Saturday, October 18, will go towards the testicular cancer charity founded by former Celtic and Wales footballer Hartson.

...“Being able to join big-name stars, such as Brian McFadden and Nicholas McDonald, at this show is a dream come true.”

Scotland's Young Real Hero of the Year

The Volunteers of the Glasgow 77th (Disabled) Scout Group run their sessions for boys aged eight to 25 with physical disabilities and life limiting conditions. All the volunteers are in their teens or early twenties.

Each week they pair up one-on-one with a member of the group for activities, adventure and personal development.

Picking up the award from Nicky McDonald and Real Heroes panel member Lisa McKechnie, they said: "Everyone should have an adventure and these guys make that possible. Thank you to the Scouts - they are our inspiration."

The fact that there are people in Russia and Indonesia particularly who are crazy over Nicky, doing a concert in Estonia and Latvia is definitely a step in the right direction.
G'won Nicky lad. ”

February is a strange time for festivals. Maybe there are some motorsport events over there in the Winter. Organizers:
Eesti Motorrattaspordi Föderatsioon (EMF)
Latvijas Motosporta Federācija (LaMSF)

I think Nicky is not yet known outside the UK in Europe, what makes it difficult for him to get decent gigs. ITV is generally not on cable outside the UK.

A point of entry may be Scottish events on the continent. Nicky may not like it, as it are often Buffalo Bill type shows with Scotsmen replacing Cowboys and Indians. Also Caledonian songs are not known to be part of Nicky's reperoire (except the "Flower of Scotland" obviously)
Rewind is in this market: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e8aM3ivKCY

An example: Moscow:

Similarely an annual event in the castle of Alden Biesen in Belgium:
http://www.scottish-weekend.be/ etc.

Anyhow: needed is the proper connection with the organizers of this type of events.

First of all, I can't take Rewind seriously at all. It's like they're just trying to be Scotland's version of One Direction. Why bother when you have One Direction? If they restyled themselves to look more original, I'd get them. Whilst they look like 1D clones I can't.

That applies to all boybands at the moment. Looking at you Union J.

Anyways, there have been no details of these upcoming events in Estonia and Latvia. I think regardless of what it's going to be, it'll be an amazing experience for Nicky. Even if Nicky doesn't get proper time to check out some tourist attractions, the essence of being there to start with will be incredible for the young lad.

Songs on iTunes released BEFORE the show !
I had Andreas performance on Preorder,I was looking through iTunes and noticed you can already buy the songs,I tried it thinking it wouldn't work and it was a fault but it has let me buy Andreas song before the show has even began and his performance sounds superb tonight !

Is there anything real in this show?
Are they dubbing or really singing live this year?
No cracked voices anymore, unless intentionally planned for the show?

Hmm. Don't know what to make of that. However, when I used to work at a tv studio it was quite common for 'live' programmes to be several minutes ahead of broadcast and, in some cases, even an hour ahead. It gives them a buffer zone if anything goes wrong. Whether that's what has happened here I don't know. Maybe they've changed it this year and it's recording studio versions of the songs rather than the actual performance from the show - ala The Voice.

I think a better word to describe the new look would be swarve.

Everytime I see a new clip of Nicky singing Midnight Memories, it just makes me yearn for some new music. I do hope Nicky starts performing some of his new songs during his gigs soon(er rather than later).

Amazing experiences for Nicky, and he must be loving every single minute.

He's also getting chance to meet so many famous people/celebrities and if he can gain new fans from these people, then hopefully word of mouth will start to set in and even more people who may not have watched X Factor will discover Nicky's talent one way or another.

Ok, these events are mainly in Scotland but I honestly think if those celebs spread the word about Nicky's talent, other people would probably express an interest.

I'm still interested in seeing what the future holds for Nicky. Hopefully more fantastic experiences and successes.

So it seems Rough Copy have been dropped by their record label. I'm not particularly surprised after that pretty poor single and it's performance. So much for those on the MFs who were banging on about how RC were going to be one of the 'real' stars of last years series - just shows what absolute nonsense that was.

I shouldn't indulge in schadenfreude though, don't want to tempt fate! And to be fair to them, they surprised me on the tour.

BUT it is quite nice to see all those smug know-it-all armchair experts who slagged off Nicky at least proved wrong.
