Well, Nicky could spend the rest of his life performing those songs but it would start getting incredibly boring. I'm sure even Nicky would much prefer performing something original...and I don't mean Answerphone!!!

I know it's Nicky's song but its such a limited song. I honestly can't imagine Nicky at the age of 30 singing Answerphone. By that age, I'd hope to hear Nicky singing more mature songs that are tailor made to suit his voice.
I think this is something that must frustrate a young talent like Nicky. Where are the opportunities to write songs? Even if Nicky did write a song by himself, who would compose the music and make the song come to life?
It's easier (sadly) to just get some old backing tracks and burn them onto a CD ready for the next show. We've discussed things like having a live band but then you have to pay the band members and at the end of the day, RCA want revenue.
I messaged Eileen early on last year about the possibility of Nicky advertising a product. It would potentially work as a sponsor. Nicky advertising Iron Bru or something like that. By being in a TV commercial, it helps to promote Nicky.
Or if not that, then using one of Nicky's songs as a soundbed for a McDonalds (see what I did there?

) TV commercial. Or John Lewis to be less obvious.
It's all too easy to post ideas of what they could do to help boost Nicky's career. However, it all involves money and I just don't know if RCA are in a position to help fund such a project.
Having seen Luke Friend's latest music video to Hole In My Heart, I get the impression they're spending a similar budget on Luke as they did with Elyah Fox.
I'd have predicted Luke Friend to be a #1 contender but Ed Sheeran & Rudimental - Bloodstream is released the same week and I reckon Bloodstream is more likely to be the #1 that week.
