Excellent.

It's great that people are starting to hear these new songs. It will hopefully make a massive difference when Nicky's second album is released.

Also brilliant that Nicky has still got a devoted following. Said it before, say it again - I really do think Nicky could be around for a long time if RCA really put proper time and effort into making the second album campaign a success.

Hopefully some full length clips will emerge on YouTube. I'm particularly hoping to hear this new song in its entirety.

I recorded 14 clips this evening.
(12 + 2 as an encore gift)

3 new I think (including Love Again)

I still have to sort things out later. I'm going for a Guiness down at Temple Bar now.
At the "Academy" one could only get water and limonade. The public was aklost exclusively young girls.

The place: a basement with low ceiling did not allow good quality recording.

I like Nicky's band.
I as not impressed by the supporting acts, but the did what supporting acts are supposed to do: warming up the public for the better things at the end.

I'm staying at the Blooms, as usually when in Dublin, since it is close to Temple Bar.
Just the WiFi is terrible.

I will not be able to upload anything before Thursday or Friday.

No I need my guiness.

I had difficulties for getting in on Tuesday, because a lot of girls were plugging the entry for seeing Nicky eventually, without them eventually having a ticket for accessing the event. I guess 30 euro may be a lot for some of those girls, aged 14 to 17.

While Nicky's event attracted mainly (almost only) young twitter-type girls, later in the evening I enjoyed some decent singing of covers by a good performer (of around 35, I don't have his name) at Quay's Bar, South of the river (Temple Bar district). It was difficult to move in there, since the place was overfilled with people aged 25-45, mostly male, being there for a drink. For once in that area the guy was not playing or singing Irish traditionals, but Ed Sheeran type songs, and he got the (drunk?) public singing.

That's excellent spooling, it's great hearing Nicky performing some other songs too.

Love Departed sounds like another solid ballad for Nicky, and I liked the fact the girls picked up the chorus and started singing along after the second verse. A killer chorus makes a pop song so much stronger.

I'm guessing clip #10 is also a new song? I didn't recognise it, and from listening I'd hazard a guess that it's called You Make It Look So Easy. I preferred Love Departed more, and Love Again remains awesome.

Also Nicky with a live band backing him works really well. It just gives each song more of a buzz.

Yes, I don't remember how it was announced exactly, Nicky was focussing on getting a few words backed by the public..

Thanks for the clips spooling, great to get a feeling for the whole set. Is there anything Nicky can't sing? Love the new songs, this album is going to be worth the wait

I've just watched Lay Me Down again, and it occurred to me that the performance was worthy of a much bigger stage. I hope Nicky and the band continue to work together, on the evidence of this first outing they have great potential. Gosh, they even warmed me to Fix You, never a favourite before

Nicky has posted a vlog on his Facebook page about his tour so far from Manchester and Dublin.

Not sure how to post a direct link so you'll need to scroll down to watch the clip.

Cheers spooling, I was having a brain freeze moment. I knew there was a way of posting a link, I just couldn't remember how to do it.

Btw, I posted a link to your video on there for the new song Love Departed. Played it again earlier and I genuinely think it's such a great song and Nicky's vocals are incredible...and this is Nicky singing it live. Those vocals are so on point, they could just use them for the album version.

Getting properly positioned in the charts with an album is not that easy.
Andrea got the 11th place with "Kelly" in the midweek charts.

LOL at that interview with Sam and Nicky. Funniest bit is right at the end when Nicky's face drops due to the stuffy room he's sat in. I think he was about to swear as the clip ended.

Nothing worse than being in hot stuffy room with no air conditioning. A bit like the office where I work which is an absolute joke to work in, so I know exactly how Nicky feels.

Makes me wonder if Simon is somewhere keeping an eye of Nicky's progress.

On the plus side, that is probably going to be a great booking for Nicky's tour.”

I can 100% guarantee that the support acts were sourced by Nicky himself and his management team and had nothing to do with X Factor or BGT. Likewise Jermain Jackman from The Voice turned up to support Nicky at his London gig by his own accord. I think it's more to do with the fact that these acts respect each other as they appreciate what it is like to go through the TV talent show process.

So Nicky never sat his GCSE exams? I've posted this before and I'll post it again - Nicky is a lot smarter than people give him credit for. Just listening to what he was saying, you can tell that he's a bright young lad. It's as if people just hear the broad Scottish accent and just think "you're so thick" when they clearly aren't.

The questions being asked were different from the norm so it was also interesting to see how Nicky answered them.

One major plus is the performing side - as tiresome as that must be for any artist, that is where the big money is. Imagine if Nicky really did become an established artist, he could be in LA doing his residence gigs in years from now. Just think how much money Nicky would be getting doing those type of gigs.

Like the DJ said, artists have started to lose money on albums purely because the revenue isn't there anymore. Personally, if I want to buy an album I will do. However, with most young teenagers why spend £8.99 on a new album on iTunes when you can stream it on Spotify and just continue to pay for the service. i don't have Spotify so can't say for sure how it works.

I hope Nicky is given the chance to continue to be an artist for as long as he wants. Nicky might get to 25 years of age and think about settling down and starting a family. So let Nicky embrace everything he's doing now, because it really "once in a lifetime" type opportunities that don't come around that often. I'm glad Nicky has got people who believe in him. I've always said the pure tone in his voice is what sells "Nicky" to me as a singer.

Having brilliant songs on the next album would be a real bonus. I wonder if there will be a single before the album release - I'd rather that, than RCA making another horrendous decision by releasing the album and single at the same time.”

Just to be a bit pedantic - Nicky did sit his GSCE equivalent (standard grades) and passed 6 of them he left school to do the X Factor before doing his A level equivalents (Highers) and I can vouch for the fact that he is indeed a very bright young man that is mature beyond his years Cx

I wish!!!

With me also doing the other remix (One Night) I'm really intrigued as to what these dance tracks might sound like.

I'm liking the idea of this being a bit pick n' mix. It might not sound cohesive in that all the tracks are similar in sound/lyrical themes (like Ed Sheeran's album X for e.g.) but as long as the songs chosen to make the final cut are brilliant then I don't care if it's not considered cohesive in that respect.

NB; If anyone from Nicky's team are actually reading this, make sure the music videos are really cool and awesome. Not meaning to blow my own trumpet, but I really loved how my video to One Night turned out.

Also great that there is the possibility of a new single getting released before the album. That's exactly the right approach, and hopefully radio stations will play the song too. Hopefully Capital FM get on board (they're better than Radio 1's minimalist faux-hipster station as it seems to have become in recent years).”

We all love your mixes and videos Cx
