Lawyers are generally involved in setting up contracts. This can be for anything (new contract with existing or other label, new manager, participation at important event (festival) or program (on TV e.g.), contract with supporting band etc. etc.). So we have to wait and eventually see what it is all about.

I think Nicky has indeed to set up his strategy for reconquering the UK. Normally from inside, other options are e.g. from within an other country as e.g. the USA. Visa restrictions apply, but the Canadian Mr Bieber did it that way.
The XF experiment is always useful for coloring his cv and for stuffing stories in the press about him, as well as some people will recognize him. It left a lot of traces on YouTube.
As for contracts, they can only communicate after the thing is signed. I guess they already have a kind of gentleman's agreement for whatever it is.

It's pure speculation but Nicholas McDonald might be one of six contenders to represent the UK at Eurovision.

Nothing has been confirmed but Nicky's name is getting a bit of attention in the Eurovision forum. Naturally I went in there to defend him against the "oh God not him" trolls.

We discussed Nicky's career in this forum and some of the participants thought it was best for him to develop himself in the Glasgow area for a couple of years.

Whilst my video is the most recent upload of all those links, a search for Nicky would probably have this video appear on page 212 (number chosen at random).

I think most of Nicky's fans share their videos on social media websites rather than YouTube.

It would be good to get some info about Nicky's new album.

Great day writing with Nicholas McDonald

I've seen mention of working with Jack Eye Jones and Josh Rhys Owen too, over the last few months, so it would seem that something is happening. It is as quiet from Nicky now as at any time since x factor finished, and a well produced album would be just the thing

A sign of the times of a continuing downward spiral for the UK album chart?

I used to report on album sales and compared them to when In The Arms Of An Angel was released in March 2014.

Well, this week the UK album chart top 3 are:

1. The Lumineers - Cleopatra (10,892)
2. Adele - 25 (10,561)
3. All Saints - Red Flag (9,298)

Nicholas McDonald's album sold 11,299 in its first week on sale. Now, imagine if Nicky has his second album out last week and over 11k people went out and bought it, Nicky would actually have the #1 album right now.

Obviously that's not happened but it really does make me wonder if Nicky's second album (whenever it gets released) will benefit from the lower album sales and manage to go #1 in the UK album chart.

At the moment, all record sales from Scotland count towards the UK charts so even if 11k people from Scotland alone bought Nicky's album, those sales would still count towards the UK chart...and Nicky is now a star turn on STV. Well, they sure like having Nicky appearing on their daytime TV shows.

Hopefully we'll hear more of the new music and maybe that second album will get released at some point in 2016.

Nicky has posted occasionally on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram about his time recording his second album. Hopefully that album isn't too far away and this thread might return to its busy days in 2014.

I don't know how to interpret "not over it". Maybe David didn't like the remix? At least it's getting my remix some attention.

I wouldn't read too much into that.

For starters, it mentions Ben Haenow winning in 2014 and he was never going to be successful (I said that all along), whilst that article also fails to mention that Louis had two acts in the 2013 final - no mention of Luke Friend.

Still, at least Nicholas' name is still out there in some form.
