I don't know what the status of it is (if any), but American TV has hundreds of cable channels that are built on thinner story lines than a black upper class twentysomething living in a big mansion. Could go over with urban market or young upscale white female viewers. The Real Housewives of Atlanta in the US is the biggest show in the whole Real Housewives franchise and features an almost 100% black cast.
I do hope Gina has a show, but I am not convinced that even if a pilot was made that it will ever come to fruition.
Another point about the Webridge House: It would make sense for her to live in that house if it was an American show, because most Americans would not equate a smallish apartment in London with wealth (even if it cost millions). They need to see the big columns and the large property.”
But, aside from what Gina's claimed (and who would take her word on anything?) where is the evidence that she's got a show in the USA? The house in Weybridge doesn't prove anything. Just because, to your mind, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that a small cable channel could be interested in someone like her, it doesn't follow that, ergo-facto, she has got a show.
You'll notice that I haven't even commented on the story that Hazel's got a show. I wait for hard facts before committing myself to a view, even though a story in the Mirror carries more weight than a tweet from Gina.
