Vanessa - First to go?

I am almost certain Vanessa will be first to go.

The simple fact is the public don't like her much.

I doubt she will be a good dancer - she participated in group dance but wasn't very good.

Surprised if she does last any length of time.

I remember when she was "Cher" on the comic relief thing. She was just plain embarassing and no-one voted for her.

Oh Nellie! Please let this not be so.

We can only hope, but I think the BBC do their best, (short of fixing the public vote) to ensure, no-hope controversial figures stay in as long as possible. The subsequent "anger" from the public reported in the press is good for the ratings.

We can only hope that The Great British Public get behind Vanessa and vote for her.

The first person to leave Strictly is seldom the worst dancer, but the person with little or no fan base, or someone just plain unliked.

I think the first to go is often someone the public just forget, with so many couples. Vanessa is already very busy with publicity, more than most, and putting her with a very strong character, James, will make them memorable, whether they are good or bad. I think Tony or Mark are more likely to be first gone, not at all because people don't like them, but they might just be lost in the crowd. It also depends who is dancing on Friday and who on Saturday - I would guess, based on very little, that the people dancing on Friday are more at risk. If the public can't vote till Saturday they'll forget them.

I'd suspect Anton and Fiona are more at risk. Though not perhaps in the first elimination.

Vanessa and James are set up to be seen as rebels with a cause and this may give them mileage.

Had she been put with Anton, perhaps a more " obvious" pairing, they'd no doubt be seen as playing for laughs. And James might have got another Cherie Lunghi type partner in Fiona.

There is no elimination the first weekend so it doesn't matter.

Having just seen their first steps, I can see why you may think Fiona would be first out Wazzy

Edit: Prepare for James to bang on and on about Vanessa having zero experience (much like Denise then, eh? ).

I don't say first out per se, but probably out before Vanessa. And more to do with the partnerships than anything.

I'd bet on a male celeb to leave first, though not sure which one.

Its a shame the bookies always try to spoil the party.

Vanessa has a daily radio show on Radio 2, plus does another daily show in London so she has a core vote to push for.

As others have said, a retired Golfer and a retired actress are likely not to have a core vote supporting them.
