On the subject of retouched photos - all the Strictly photos since the year dot have looked pretty manufactured, in my opinion. The backdrop is added later, which is why it's exactly the same in every single photo - even the folds are the same - as are those effects you sometimes get with the bubbles being added for Christmas etc,. But as far as the subjects themselves - usual digital retouching will sort out any facial blemishes (though the heavy make-up does a good job of that anyway and they don't use the make-up that doesn't work with photography - but beyond that, what you see is how they are..... They are real dancers doing real jobs and they know how to pose, how to look good, how to work with the camera. Working with dancers is a dream job because they do make it easy. The only difference between dancers and models is that the models love the camera (mostly) and the dancers don't like looking at themselves (though of course they do it day in day out for their job). Hope that helps...”

thanks Cheryl - I do like the photos, I just, not sure how to put this, to me, they do look a little fake thats sounds sooooo wrong but its the only word I can think of atm that kinda describes what I am seeing - maybe its the added backdrop but the pros do look like they have been "dropped" into the photo, which I guess that kinda have been, it doesnt look natural, for want of a better word

I agree; it's not my style of photography either - but they've been doing it this way for so long now - not sure why !

Is it just me, or does Artem look a bit like Duncan Bannatyne in his pic?

Love all the pictures professional pictures are always retouched.

it amazes me how much in shape these dancers keep themselves in, their hard work shows in every single inch of their bodies.

luigy39 all dancers are terrified of losing condition during rest periods and they all work out more or less all the time because of that. It takes far more effort to get back into shape if they've eased up over the summer, say, than it does to just keep going.
