Why was Adele (BB3) so hated?

What did she do? I remember the verruca argument with Jade but Jade wasn't even popular at that time outside the house for people to dislike her for arguing with her.

I vaguely remember something about both her and Jade making Sophie feel horrible and wanting to leave but don't remember the full facts. Was she really that bad, or is it a case of looking back that it was just shocking at the time, like Nasty Nick?

She wasn't really that bad but I think she was playing the game (nowhere near the likes of Nasty Nick though).

I like the ones that play the game, makes for a more intriguing show. I think we got value for money with Adele.

There was a lot of talk at the time too that BB did a stitch up job on Adele as part of their rehabilitation of Jade as they were so scared of the reaction Jade might get. People think Adele got scapegoated.

Adele was fairly bitchy, and could be mean (to Sophie). I liked her though, because she hated Johnny so much.

Nasty Nick was the game player. Every Game player in BB has been caught out at some point...its nothing to be ashamed off...it just happens but before Nick got caught he had No Nominations where as people like Dexter and Aaron had lots.

I like the occasional game player but when it comes to Nick Bateman..."Often Imitated, Never Duplicated"

She was shown calling Johnny a 'w*nker' behind his back just before eviction night. Small beer these days, but then it was enough for a last minute avalanche of votes which saved Jade, who was hot favourite to go.

I just remember her making these bitchy comments under her breath or in someone else's ear all the time. I liked her but I started to get sick of it and was thinking that she's slowly digging herself a hole as it did not come across well at all.

I remember her arguments with People were funny.
Just looked her up was curious how long she lasted quite a hostile eviction was good viewing.
Apparently she is now on bbc1 xtra weekends DJing.

I agree with those who liked her because of her hatred of Johnny.

I mostly liked her, but she could be a bit nasty.

I don't mind a bit of moaning about people behind their back but even I thought Adele was taking it a bit far when Johnny was asking her if she wanted a cup of tea and she was replying to him in a friendly enough manner but then turning to Jade and calling him a ******. She wasn't nice to Sophie either, although Sophie was annoying.

I remember her trying her relentless bitching on Kate, who was made of sterner stuff than Sophie and got absolutely nowhere with it.
Jonny once asked if she'd like a cup of tea - or something - and with a pretty vicious smile on her face, she said 'No thanks....' then Jonny left the room and the nastiness started.
All in all she was a pretty unpleasant person. There was talk of the crowd being utterly silent on her eviction; no boos or cheers. I'm quite glad that didn't happen. I shudder to think how anyone could cope with that level of unnerving public ridicule.

I liked Sophie. I felt bad for her at the time. Jade/Adele and Tim were really nasty towards Sophie. Even if Sophie was annoying in someone's eyes, this doesn't excuse the bad treatment dished out to her. There was no excuse for that in my opinion.

Shocking behaviour, no wonder she was hated lol.

I remember that as being the first time I became aware of how the producers could influence public opinion through the edit.

That particular week Jade was absolutely hated - I seem to remember death threats etc. Unbelievable now but it was really, really big news. BB painted a really poor picture of Adele that week and in spite of all the intense hatred Adele was evicted over Jade. I honestly think they thought Jade would be lynched.

I remember Graham Norton doing huge U turn and went from deriding and publicly humiliating her on his nightly show to becoming one of her biggest fans. He was partly responsible for the real bad feelings towards her.

That's how I remember it anyway.

I remember Allison being shocked when Adele nominated her, and then picking Adele when Davina asked who was the most two faced. The audience cheered in agreement so she was hated from very early on in the show. She just generally came across as a very sly person.

Because she's black.

I remember sitting on the sofa, open mouthed when she slagged of Jonny (which I didn't really like anyway), when he offered her to make her tea. She was constantly horrible to a few people. For me, her crowd reaction seemed the most hostile because back then, it felt real. No panto, no influence on getting the crowd to boo, people in the crowd really had it in for her!

I liked Adele. Yes she could be a bit of a bitch, but she wasn't that bad. She hated Johnny, so did I, so it was another reason for me to like her. She was the first person to leave the house to massive boos, but she handled it very well.

It's funny though, that actually she's one of the most successful HM. She has her own show on R1XTra on weekend afternoons, and she recently stood in on Weekend Breakfast on R1. These are good gigs!

I saw her on the Underground about a month ago. Couldn't remember her name though and wouldn't have said she'd come from such an early series if you'd asked me.

Thanks for reminding me.

That was one of the biggest U-turns in chat-show history. I disliked Jade, but even I thought his taunting and pig analogies were just plain nasty. But when she was on his show he was licking her boots.

Almost certainly the biggest ever vote for an eviction( rather than for a final week winner). In those days they announced the numbers and it was 1 million for Jade and 2 million for Adele. The view was that this was the only chance to get rid of Adele -she was popular in the house and got only two nominations and it was just enough to get her up.Jade could wait a week as she was so unpopular in the house(everyone including Adele nominated her!)she would be up again and get voted out. However a twist meant she wasn't up and then in the final noms somehow escaped as she had improved.

Firstly, her attempted relationship with Lee, despite having a partner at home, didn't go down well (surprise, surprise), then her treatment of Sophie, along with Jade and Tim, really nasty and, presumably, the Jonny thing (which, I admit, I didn't remember).

I vaguely remember that there was a bit of mutual flirting with Alex Sibley aswell!

I don't know if I'm remembering correctly, but wasn't her partner a woman ?
